I rocked out with my cop out

Well February ended today and it was just an all around awesome day. Kath and i made it to our first film of 2010. We saw Cop outthe new Bruce Willis movie directed by Kevin Smith. It was awesome and hillarious. Definately baby sitter worthy! It reminded me of an 80's buddy cop movie. We went with Rob and his son and our friend Mike who we hadnt seen in almost a year. After the movie we shot over to best buy and i finally picked up the newest Sass Jordan cd. I had an extra 10 dollars. I shovelled my neighbour out the other day and she gave ne a nice card with 10 dollars in it. I keep telling her its not necessary to pay me. I do it to be nice. Its not often i live near a cool neighbour so i'm happy to do it. Anyhow i used the cash to pick up the cd. It totally rocks and she does an awesome cover version of an Eagles song called ol' 55.

We went home and had supper and then went to Rob's to do our show and talk Kevin Smith films. Mike was our special guest. I really want to hold on to this feeling cause i have a bad feeling this week is gonna suck. My supervisor Erin had surgery and is expected to be out for a couple of months. I have a new manager who is a new girl. The reason i have a bad feeling is most new managers totally go by the book and have something to prove and usually nit pick when marking you on your calls. I was just starting to be back in a groove again after being on Garretts team last year. Hopefully the new manager is temporary until Erin gets back. Hopefully she proves me wrong and is cool. Man thats a lot of hopefullys. Anyhow I'm hoping March is ok. I have my fingers crossed.

Starlight express!!

Well my day is over. What a slushy,crappy walk it was. Work was kind of ok. It was busy but no on really pissed me off--until my last call of the day. So i had this guy call in and he wanted my help with something but 'wouldn't let me bring up his account information. I couldn't help him if i couldnt see what the situation was. So he started yelling and carrying on--all because i asked him for his address to pull up his account. I flat out told him i couldn't help him if he wasn't going to give me the info. So then he just started yelling "supervisor" over and over again in a mentally challenged voice. I tried to explain that i would still need to bring up his account for the supervisor but he continued to yell supervisor. Sometimes he would shake things up and yell "manager."

So here's what he reminded me of. A few weeks ago on Family Guy,Peter Griffin was in a weird play. In the play he kept skating around on roller skates yelling "starlight express." It was about as cool as that. I told him i would hang up if he didn't stop. To which he replied with a loud raspberry. I hung up. It was time to go home. Moron.

I'm getting to old for this shit

Holy crap i hate snow. Its coming down like crazy today. I knew i should have shovelled a bit yesterday but i decided not to. I went out today and yesterdays snow had iced over. My arms are killing me now after that. I am so beyond tired right now. Yes i am old and out of shape. I threw salt on the really icy parts and then went out a second time. A little easier the second time but not by much. Man when did i get so old? I'm seriously dizzy now. Not cool. If you need me I'll be laying on the couch for the rest of the day.

Kath has to be at work for 9 today so i was supposed to walk Diana into school and pick her up. Because of the crazy snow and the fact it was freezing Kath thought it was a good idea for Diana to stay home today. Ok good plan except for once Diana got up on her own and early to boot. She tried to go back to sleep but she failed. Lucklily she let me sleep in a little bit longer. My kid rules. Extra sleep or not it feels like i've been awake a week straight. Again i ask when did i get so old?


I may feel like crap but the alternative is to be answering calls from assholes. So I'm good with feeling rotten at home. I just have to get through one more craptacular shift tomorrow and then Kath and i are off to see Cop out! Can't wait. Hopefully this day will go by fast so i can see Kath. Kath is working a 12 hour shift today. Anyhow gonna go eat some soup. Hopefully i feel better and awake after that. Take care everybody and stay warm

Dirty party makes it all better.

So yesterday started off massively horrible and by the end of the day was pretty kick ass. As usual my customers were just out of control. For some reason in the morning my calls consisted of callers who would all say something incredibly asshole-ish and then hang up before i could respond. I remember one customer asked me a million questions. I answered them all and even gave her some good news about a 50 dollar credit she had received. So in closing i asked if there was anything else i could help her out with. And very bitchy like she responded with "you didn't do anything to help me!" and then she hung up. What the hell?

In the afternoon a caller phoned in and he was pissed off right from the get go. I made the mistake of asking him "how can i help you today? I might as well have told him i was from nazi Germany. He immediately freaked out--and keep in mind at this point we're about 30 seconds into the call. "why don't you take a minute to read all the notes on the account before you ask me that!" he bellowed. I innocently replied "Sorry sir i was only asking because i want to help you." Douchey Mcdouche replied "no you're not trying to help me. If you can't do your job i suggest you get me a supervisor!!" At this point i didn't understand what i did wrong. At this point i didn't want to be bothered so i said. "you know what sir? I really was trying to help you but I'm going to get a supervisor because I'm not gonna tol'erate you yelling at me for no reason." I read the notes later and apparently he wouldnt let the supervisor help him either. Jackass.

This was pretty much the tone for the day and I'm sorry if you take 80 calls in a row like this it does tend to piss you off. So i left work in a foul mood. That soon dissappeared.

Kath was having a party-a passion party. This is a party where you invite a bunch of people over and someone will come and sell naughty products. Kind of like a dirty avon party i guess. The person selling the products happenned to be Rob. We invited a bunch of friends including Hollie who we hadn't seen in forever. I kept calling it kath's dirty party. It turned out pretty cool. I finally met Kath's co worker Simon and Hollie's friend Ian. They both were really cool. After the party we sat around eating and drinking beers and talking. It was a great time. Some of the sex toys made me laugh but what are u gonna do. So hanging out with my friends made me forget about lousy day i had. So thanks to my friends who attended and thanks for taking my mind off of work. Its hard to think about work when there's a dozen dirty conversations going on. Yeah I'm a pig.

Ps Kath was correct my head just about exploded. The conversations were interesting and certain females told other females they were hot and yes some breast sizes were compared. Yup dirty old man right here.

Chilling out on Jack Bauer night

Man i didnt think my day would end. Work sucked hard. Thats a given right? I think I'm getting my first cavity ever. My arm hurt most of my shift and i think I'm getting another cold. Yup i am falling apart.
THen the snow hit. I came home for lunch and snow was constantly blowing into my face. Hooray for me! I also got to come home in the dark and shovel. Good times.

Man i'm really reaching to see if anything good happened today. Nope not coming up with anything.


Oh i can talk about something Kath and i discussed. We mentioned it might be nice to renew our wedding vows maybe next year. We found a cheap chapel we could do it at and then maybe have a potluck later on. A few of our friends didnt get to see us get married the first time so this would be a great way to rectify that. Plus i love Kath a lot and would love to renew our vows. Diana has told us that we're only allowed to get married once. Anyhow its just talk at this point. Well have to wait and see.
Anyhow thats life in a nutshell. I'm gonna go eat a sandwich and maybe watch some Caprica. I hope i don't fall asleep before Kath gets home. Its Jack Bauer night after all.

The exhaused basement cleaner

Wow I'm exhausted. I spent 3 hours cleaning the basement. Lots of work. Kath is having a passion party down there on Wednesday and i thought i would be a good husband and tidy up and vaccuum. Oh and in the window was some dead bees and spiders it was lovely. So Kath thinks my head is going to explode cause all her attractive friends will be here looking at sex toys at the passion party. How dare you insinuate such a thing Kath! I am respectable! Nah just kidding she knows me all to well. Oh and there will be chips and dip to! So I'm all set.

Listening to get your geek on right now. We pre recorded the show last night. Had fun at Rob and Nickles. Diana came on the air and reviewd a comic. It was cute. Kath and i finally got around to watching the last Bruce Willis movie--Surrogates. Awesome movie. Then again i can't think of any Bruce Willis film that i didn't like. Yes that includes Color Of Night and Hudson Hawk.

Man i don't feel like working tomorrow. I really hope someday the whole radio station takes off and we can all do that as a living. Unless Rob and Matt fulfill their dream of opening a topless donut shop here in the Niagara region. I have been promised a job their if that comes true. They are good friends. I love donuts. What? You think i was in it for the topless ladies? Shame on you.

Anyhow i guess I am done rambling for now. Gonna go wait for Kath to come home and have some lasagna and watch some tv. Hopefully i will get through the next 3 days super fast. Anyhow hope everyone has an awesome week.

Yammy makes it all better

I've had just a horrible week. Diana just said something that made it all right. She said that i was the best daddy in the whole world. I love my kid.

Speaking of my kid apparently she has 11 imaginairy chinchillas. Tomorrow is a big day for them. Its the chinchilla olympics! Sadly i would rather se that than the real olympics.

my spider sense is tingling for free pancakes!

Man i have the best friends at work. So today was pancake day at work. Everytime i tried to get near the pancake line it was chaos. They were running out of pancakes or the line was way to gi normous. I had just about given up hope of getting pancakes when Deb brought me a big ass plate of them right on the floor! I wolfed those babies down in between calls! It was awesome.

If that werent enough my friend Tammy brought me a wall crawling spiderman from buger king. She always leaves me happy meal toys for Diana. DIana wrote her up a valentine to say thanks. I gave it to Tammy and it made her very happy.

So i'm hating all my customers today but at least i have a big ol' guy full of pancakes and a new spiderman toy. Life is good for the moment. We'll see what tomorrow brings

Happy family day

So for all my American friends who don't know. Family day is a holiday that took effect in Canada about 3 years ago, Its cool because we get paid time and a half at work. I only had to work four hours today and i still get paid for a full day. So I'm just vegging out watching tv with the kid. Kath is at her job right now as we speak.

Last nights show went over pretty smoothly. Nickle sat in. Man i wish that was my day job. I think i have mentioned that about a thousand times now. Someday.

Well gonna go lay on the couch with Diana and Heshy. Barbie swan lake is on now. Talk to you all later

Happy valentines day from King of the geeks!

Hey guys just wanted to say happy valentimes day--or the 8th anniversary of the day i made Kath so mad she threw a bag of rice at me in the grocery store. Oh we also saw weezer that day! Good times

Oh customers why do i hate u so much.

So had an interesting call at work today. SOme inbred hick (big surprise there) called in. His service had been disconnected as he hadnt paid a bill in about 5 months. He got mad because i wouldnt connect him to our reconnection department before he made a payment. He was also mad about a possible reconnection fee. I couldnt find the cost of a reconnection so gave him an approximate figure. Yeah i think he called me mother fucker a good five times after that. I was thinking to myself well i have cable service and you don't. He then said my customer skills sucked. I told him so did his swearing He then said he was gonna come down to the office and beat the crap out of me. Yeah i then just blurted out
"good luck with that I'm in Canada. " Yeah probably shouldnt have done that. We're not really suppossed to tell the customers where we are located. He then hung up.

Anyhow I'm home now and looking forward to spending time with my family. Have a great night

Romance show weird experience #2

So later on in the day there was a pole dancing demonstration on the stage. It was by a lady who runs a gym somewhere and teaches pole dancing. I helped lift the pole onto the stage. The dancer kind of looked like a really muscular Sheryl Crow. Ok i will be blunt she was hot. Everyone in our booth- females included-thought so. She sure could work a pole. Ha ha. Anyhow she did her demonstration and we all watched in awe. ANyhow later on we helped take her pole apart and load it in her van. So why was this a weird experience for me? Rob said she was asking about me and it semed she thought i was hot. So lets think about this for a minute. Really attractive fit instructer being attracted to out of shape guy with a grey beard and a gut. How does that make sense? Maybe on Bizarro world. Even Kath seemed impressed that fit Sheryl Crow was asking about me. My wife is the coolest!! Anyhow that's my strange story. Discuss

weird things that happenned to me at the romance show part 1

So last Sunday Kath and I and the train rek gang went to the Niagara Romance show. Rob was going to be doing announcing and promoting the radio station. He asked me to come along to help and then Kath got the day off as well. So we got there early in the morning and set up the speakers and equipment. It didn't take to long to set up. Anyhow this brings me to weird experience of the day number one. On my way back in from a bathroom break a lady selling avon at a booth called out my name. I didnt recognize her. I thought she was my ex crazy landlady. Here's the conversation that followed

"Do you know who i am?."
"no sorry."
"I'm your fathers 2nd wife."

Ok a little back story here. In the early 90's my father and mother got divorced. My father had cheated on her. I havent seen or spoken to my father since 1995. He had picked me up while i was waiting for a bus. I had given him my telephone number and he never used it. I never called him either. Ok recap done back to the action.

"your father's not doing well. He's going in for a colonascopy. I don't know why you don't talk to him."


Now i didn't know what to say. I was totally blind sided. I'd never met the woman before and i was trying to figure out how she knew me.


"i don't know why you've been feuding all these years."
I haven't been feuding with my father. He chose to not have any contact with me or my sister. Su has actually gotten ahold of him a few times in recent years but it was her that did all the work.

"maybe you should get a hold of him. I would really like to get to know you and your wife."

Yeah that would be swell. We can be best buds and hang out together. Maybe we can braid each others hair.

So i finally pipe up after being in shock.
"look i will shoot him an email. I can get the address from Su. That's about all i can promise."

"yes su should have it she's been over a few times to the house."

Yup Su told me all about those visits. She said it was awkward for her. My sister is outgoing. I am not. I could imagine it being 100 times worse for me.

With that i went back to our booth. Needless to say i didnt use the bathroom for the rest of the day. I just sat there for awhile eating cookies. As of this writing i haven't emailed my father. I'm trying to think of something to send. Definately gonna keep it light. I'm sure i'll think of something

Why do days off have to end?

Hey there just reporting to you live from my second day off. Its been pretty relaxing these last couple of days. I'm still a little bit sick but i have a feeling that will soon pass. Just hanging out with Yammy having some lunch. Kath is at work. That sucks. I really miss her today. Looking forward to later. Gonna eat hamburgers and watch a special 2 hour Smallville movie. The movie is about Clark meeting the heroes of the Justicee Society and its written by my favorite writer--Geoff Johns. Oh and Michael Shanks from Stargate is playing Hawkman! Very exciting stuff.

I don't wanna go back to work tomorrow. Its been a rough week. It's been busy as hell. Oh and i do love when the customers threaten to get me fired. Good times. Cleaning the house today is actually better than that crap. If i can get through tomorrow Sunday should be fun. Gonna help Rob out atthe Niagara romance and sex show and then of course we'll be doing a live show Sunday night. Man have i mentioned yet today that i wish the show was our day job?

What a shitty day. It was busy all day at work. One lady threatened to get me fired. I had cramps all day (thanks last nights chili). Its snowing pretty hard outside and i still have a bit of a cold. None of that matters. The 6th and final season of Lost starts tonight! Kath and i just re watched season 5 and we are both pretty pumped up! Can't wait until Kath gets home to watch it with me. Ah the little things that get me through the day!
