A pain in the ass ending to September

So just got word that the complex is changing the insulation in the units. I realize this is a good thing and it will lower the heating bills in the winter. Here's the part that is a pain in the ass. The access to the attic is in Diana's closet. So i have to move everything from her closet as well as the contents of most of her room. The workers need 2/3rds of the room to be empty. I will need to mover her book case and bed to. I started moving stuff today and my bedroom and spare room look like something out of the show hoarders. Not looking to moving it all back either. I don't even know when they will be here. I'm hoping Monday when I'm at work. I guess they will be back to work in the basement also. Yay. Oh well what can you do. September is over today and tomorrow is the start of a brand new month. Have a good one everybody. See ya in October!

Man its days like this i wish i could go back to bed. I woke up feeling just awful. My nose refuses to stop running, my stomach hurts like a son of a bitch and i feel like i havent slept in a week. Hmmmm do i wanna go to work and get yelled at by rednecks for 10 hours now? I guess i have to if i wanna continue to have a place to live in. Stupid rent. Stupid work. Stupid runny nose. Oh well i'm gonna have to suck it up i literally have to leave in a minute. Have a good day everyone. If i survive i will be back with more fun filled blogs.

Drinking with the kids again.

So for the second saturday in a row i got drunk with Kath and her friends. Thats real funny in itself cause i rarely drink anymore. We drove with Nickle and Rob and went to Simon's house for a cook out. Simon is a cool guy who works with Kath and Nickle and has been on our show. Amy was also there and Johnny and some other people from Kath's work. I drank a whopping 4 beers and that started laughing uncontrollably when Nickle was singing family guy songs and quoting Anchorman. There was also 5 cool dogs there and now more than ever i want one. There was plenty of good food as well.Oh and with the exception of rob and Kath i was old enough to be the dad of all the party guests. I am very old, It was really a great time. This week though i have to get back on track with my diet so no more beers. Anyhow thanks for a great time Simon and Nickle we must learn some more family guy songs for next time we are blitzzed.

Back to the real world

Ugh. In a couple minutes i have to drag my ass to work I'm really tired. Feels like i hit the pillow, blinked and now its time to go to work. I hope its dead in there today. I really do. It probably won't be. I had a fantastic weekend. I'm gonna blog later about the weekend as soon as i can actually feel like I'm awake. Man its gonna be a long one. Ah phooey. I have to stay positive. I'm positive work is gonna suck. Can't wait to come home for lunch and see kath. Seeing her at lunch and walking Diana to school are my 2 favorite parts of my day now. Oh well. Maybe the 10 hours will go by fast. Yeah and monkeys might fly out of my butt. I'll write more later. Have a good one everybody.

Bummed but surviving

So last week i mentioned i had gone on a job interview at kaths work. Sadly it turns out i didn't get the job. I'm a little bummed but it's probably for the best. With my current work schedule i can walk Diana in to school every morning. We would have needed a baby sitter 5 times a week and my schedule would be changing all the time. I wouldn't have been able to do Get Your Geek on live every week either. So maybe in the future i will get another opportunity for something better. I hope.

Danny Glover was right

So last Saturday i did something I hadn't done in about 15 years. I went to a strip club. I actually went with a group of friends and some of them were female. Amy had invited Kath and Nickle and some people from their work. Ok i was curious about going to a strip club with my wife and her friends so i agreed to go. I will admit i used to go to strip clubs with my friends when i was younger. Beer was cheap and i was a horny teen ager. As i got older though i became bored and stopped going. Anyhow back to the present. We met up at the sundowner in Niagara falls. This was going to be interesting. So we walked in and curiosity immediately turned to annoyance. There was a 15 dollar cover charge--for each person! What the hell? Back in my day we were never charged a cover charge, It was free. We paid anyhow because we had already agreed to meet Amy inside. Going inside was a huge mistake. It was wall to wall people--no seats and sticky floors. Yeah it was gross. We tried to make the best out of it. I was thirsty and got a can of diet coke. First time i ever paid 4.75 for a can of pop. It sucked. We were all having a shitty time so we left after an hour and went to a bar called taps. Taps turned out to be cool and we all had a couple of beers and joked around. So the moral of the story is i am too old for strip clubs. To quote Danny Glover from the lethal weapon series "i'm to old for this shit."

anal and semen

what another fun filled day in the trenches. Nothing but wall to wall assholes all day on the phone. I spoke to some characters. I spoke to a screaming asian lady. She sounded like an asian lady version of screetch from Saved by the bell. I swear I'm not making this up but her husbands name was semen. I kid you not. I bet he can handle himself in a sticky situation.

The most ridiculous call of my day was actually my last call of the day. It was a doozy. It was a half an hour long and exremely annoying. A guy by the name of anil(yup pronounced anal it was a real good day for names) called in to dispute the fact that we were charging him for phone service--for a year! We started him on a phone plan in september of 2009. He claims he never asked for phone service but kept paying the bills and didnt question the amount owed on the bills. He claims he never read any of the bills for a year that clearly showed phone charges. We have a policy that you have 30 days to dispute any charges you don't agree with not a year. We wouldn't credit him anything and took down my information to file a complaint to take us to court. Really? Are you gonna file under stupidity? What a joke.
So that was my work day. I'm off for 2 days so gonna take it easy. Couch here i come!!

Tuesday blues

Just got back from walking Diana to school. I'm so tired. Nothing 10 hours of work wont fix. I don't know how I'm gonna do it today. I'll get by i suppose.

Kinda sad today. Kath pointed out that our cat Hesh is starting to get around slowly and that he's not getting out of the way as fast as he once did. I realize he's 16 years old but until now he really hasnt shown any signs of aging. He was still acting like a kitten running and jumping. I've had him since 1994 and he is one of the family so i'm having a hard time dealing with it. And on that cheerful note--it's off to work.

More interview goodness!!

oh my God ! Oh My God! Jt Krull wrote back to us last night. Just a quick reminder--he's the writer of Green Arrow and Teen Titans. He wants to do the show! He said sometime in October would be great. We've read a bunch of his stuff and we like his work a lot. Oh yeah can't wait!

Half a day of hell

Woke up this morning feeling a bit crappy. Nothing compared to Diana who coughed and threw up a bit on Kath. So Diana stayed home from school and i called in late to work. Kath is coming home soon on her split shift and I'll be going in for 6 hours. So i will get yelled at for half of a shift. Good times. Gonna go eat some lunch and prepare for half a day of hell

Quiet Sunday

Having a swell quiet day hanging out with Diana and Kath. Getting ready to do another exciting episode of get your geek on tonight. Our friend hot Amy will be a guest tonight. Looking forward to it. I got to sleep in for the first time in a while and i'm feeling pretty good. Don't really have a lot to say today but I'm in a good mood which rarely happens so wanted to write it down before it fades. Have a great Sunday everybody.

Dancing Diana

Hey. Good day and welcome to Friday. I dropped Diana off to school a little while ago. I came home and am trying to find info for this weeks show. Pretty good morning so far. Gonna have a nice nap in a bit.

So forgot to mention that we signed up Diana for dance class. She's our little ballerina now. We Got her the tights and the outfit and last week was her first class. From what we gather, she loves it but she won't tell us what she has learned in the class. What a wacky kid.

Just wanted to give a shout out and a big thank you to Rob and Nickle. They were able to drive us to the ballet class despite having a million things to do yesterday. Thanks guys. You are both excellent friends.

150

Wow its my 150'th blog of 2010! And i have absolutely nothing to talk about! I had a shitty experience at work today. So that sucked. Listening to a jay and silent bob pod cat. That's cheering me right up.

Oh yeah my mom gave us an early christmas present. Something very awesome. She bought us tickets to see Barney Bentall in march at Brock University. I have the coolest mom ever.
I can't believe i have 2 days off. I'm gonna sleep a lot. I was so exhausted today. Felt like i hadn't slept in a week. Not good. Ayho w thanks for sticking with me to 150 blogs this year. I will try and be more interesting next time.

hugs cure all

What another shitty day. A customer called me Julie today! Seriously? How do you get Julie out of Jason? What the hell? I'm so glad its over. I miss Diana and Kath. Looking forward to hugs when they get here. That is the cure for a bad day.

Happy anniversary to me

Seeing how i didn't post all weekend i forgot to mention one special anniversary. Eleven years ago September 11th 1999 i met Kath for the first time. We had our first date, She made me cookies and we went out to see The Sixth Sense. Fast forward to 2010 and I'm still extremely happy and head over heels in love with my wife. Thank you Kath for 11 great years! You rock!

Day of awesomeness

Sunday we had quite the little family outing. We took Diana to the Galleria mall in Buffalo to get a new stuffed animal from build a bear. She chose a hello kitty and named it Alice. While we were at the mall Kath bought a collection of cookie cutters shaped like star wars characters. It made the geek in me smile.

we rushed home to do our show. We weren't even sure if we were gonna be doing a show. The server at trainrek radio had gone down. Luckily Rob had pulled a Macgyver and gotten it fixed with time to spare. It was a good show and it made me happy.

Later that night we had the most kick ass batch of chili ever courtesy of Kath. Amy came over and we watched the True Blood season finale. Good times.

It was a really cool day but all good things come to an end and another day of the craptacular job was on its way, Hooray for me.

Nervous morning

Ok i will let the cat out of the bag. This morning i had a job interview where Kath works. I found out about it yesterday. I was really nervous. I havent been on an interview in 9 years. I think i did ok. My typing test kind of sucked though. The lady that did the interviewing seemed nice. So if i get the job i can finally put annoying customers behind me. My one concern is that i may need to work at 8 in the morning and i have no idea how i would get there that early. The place is in Niagara Falls. Kath works at 9 and will have to get Diana to school. Kath and Rob both said things will work out. I sure hope thats true.

2nd day is also cool

Diana's 2nd day of school went great too. I have to admit i really like walking with her to school. Its the happiest moment of my day now. Unfortunately i work after i drop her off so my day goes right in the crapper. Such is life i guess.

First day back

First day of school wasn't too bad. I woke up early and we got Diana ready and i walked her to the school. We found the door she had to go in and we met her teacher who seemed really nice. Most of the kids from junior kindergarten are back with a few new kids. Diana is going for a full day this year instead of half a day. I actually felt sad when she went into class. My kid is growing up so fast.

I got to see Diana a bit when i came home for my lunch at 3. She had a great day and made some new friends. I'm so proud of her. I'm happy that i get to walk her in everyday now. Going to work after i drop her off is another story altogether.

Booze

Wow starting to remember why i quit drinking a million years ago. Last night we had Amy over. She's had a rough week so we tried to cheer her up. So naturally what cheers people up? Thats right booze. So Kath and i got a bit of booze and made some burgers. After our show we had Amy and her friend Johnny and Rob and Nickle over as well. Drunk Nickle is a hoot by the way. Anyhow i really don't drink alcohol anymore and the 6 drinks i had really knocked me for a loop. Now the good news is i want too hung over today but i did feel groggy and out of it for the whole day. We had a good time and a lot of laughs at least and i'm glad Amy was able to see "drunk" Jay as she requested. I think I'll stick to pop from now on.

Back to school

Happy labour day everyone! I can't believe summer vacation is over and Diana starts senior kindergarten tomorrow. What really sucks is that her school has barely given us any information. We got a letter stating what time she starts and that she's in an all day class. We don't know her teachers name or what doors she goes into or what room number she's in. I'm walking her in early tomorrow. I have to get up early, walk Diana to school and then get my ass to work. Should be fun. Kath has rearranged her schedule again. She's working split shifts so she can pick Diana up and then drive her to day care. Should be an interesting school year. I'm so happy her school is as organized as fan expo. Yup. Thats me being sarcastic.

A couple of cool con moments

Ok its been a week since i last blogged. I'll start September off with the few good things that happened at the con. It won't be a long blog that's for sure.

We spent a while in a section called Artist alley. Thats where all the comic book writers and artists hung out. Also a lot of vendors where creative people have made their own t shirts and paintings and buttons and so on. Kath and i made a lot of contacts for the show. We handed out our cards to them. There were a couple of people there that have made there own clerks type show about working in a comic book store. We purchased a dvd from them and met some of the actors from the show. They seemed really excited about being on the show. We havent had time to watch the dvd yet but will do so this week.

The highlight of fan expo? I went to the dc comics booth to meet a guy by the name of jt krul who is the current writer of Green Arrow. Green Arrow is a character i have been a fan of since i was a little kid. In recent years the character has been written by Judd Winnick and Kevin Smith himself. It was when Kevin Smith was writing the book that Kath got into the character. Nicole has also jumped on board the Green Arrow bandwagon. Anyhow the book has sucked large for the last year or so and i considered dropping it all together. Jt Krul took over earlier this year and really breathed new life into the character. We've reviewed a lot of his stuff on the show and Kath and i have both liked it a lot.
Anyhow i took a book for mr krul to sign and mentioned Kath and i were big fans. I gave him a card and asked if he'd be interested in doing an interview. He was so cool and said:
"I'll do you one better." with that he gave us his email address to set up an interview. Very cool. So something cool at least came out of that hellish day. It wasnt all that bad i guess. We did enjoy seeing everyones costume and i did find a couple of cool books. I think we will be throwing all our energy into next years wizard world con instead.
