Life is sweet

I can't believe that yesterday i couldnt see 2 feet in front of me on account of the snow and today i got to grill while drinking a beer in the backyard. Life is good.

I love you weekend

Hooray! Snow is melting and the sun is shining! i think its gonna be a good day. Kath is on her way home and we're gonna watch some movies and maybe take a trip to the new video store. Yup I am addicted! I got a pretty good nights sleep and I'm ready to face the day. I'm gonna try not to think about the shift bid until i get to work on Monday to see whats being offered. I'm in a good mood so hopefully can hang on to that mood for the weekend. I get to spend it with my family so what more do i need right? I have a kick ass show planned for tomorrow and all my work is completed for it. I think I'm going to celebrate by grilling burgers and chicken today. Hot diggity!

Over tired Jay

As i go to bed to rest my weary eyes i just want to reflect on one thing, I spoke to a guy naked Harry Johnson today. Get it? I couldn't help but giggle like a 10 year old girl all through the call. Thank God for my mute button. Yeah I'm over tired. Tomorrows gonna be another day. Goof night kids.

Geeky Sunday

I just accepted a job this Sunday. Rob and i were asked to go to a toy show in Toronto to hand out flyers for the upcoming Niagara Falls Comic con. Paul from Pulp comics asked us to go. We accepted and it should be cool. I've always wanted to check out that toy show anyhow and it'll be good publicity for the con. Should be done by 4 so should have time to get home for the show. I have a couple of bucks in case i see something thats cool and cheap.

Huh?

Where in the hell did this gross, slushy,cold snow come from? I realize its still March but it was hot out last week. The snow was blowing so hard tonight i couldnt see in front of my face. It was effed up, Seriously man what the h? Just glad its the weekend. Dear God please warm everything up tomorrow.

cheap dvds--Jay has died and gone to heaven.

I forgot to mention that about 3 weeks ago a new store opened near us called entertainment deals and they sell only dvd's and books for dirt cheap. All the dvd's are brand new n the package and sell for a mere 5 dollars a pop. I've gone back there the last 3 weekends and picked up a bunch of stuff. I finally own Spied Like us and Nightshift--2 comedies i have enjoyed since i was younger. They have an awesome selection and they are getting new stuff every week. The only thing that sucks? They only signed a 2 month lease. I hope they get a longer lease. I love getting dvds and i especially love buying them when they are cheap.

Another shitty day at the day job

So was sitting at work minding my own business when i suddenly read a message that came in from the higher ups. Apparently its not very busy and they've hired too many representatives in my department. The answer to this? A shift bid next week. I just went back there a month and a half and was given the best shift i ever had and now it might be done. This really sucks because i didn't want to come back to that department in the first damn place. I'm gonna try to be calm for the weekend until i know more. I'm hoping i don't lose my weekends off. If i do then i have a shitload of Saturdays to book off between now and the summer.

Gygo announcement

So big announcement. We spoke with Paul at Pulp Comics and it looks like Get Your Geek On will be broadcasting live from his store on Free Comic Book Day. We're very excited. We wanted to do it last year but we had Diana's dance recital. It'll be our second live broadcast and it'll be on May 5th. Should be really cool. If you can make it down to the falls come check us out!

I do love the cons

Sunday was also a legendary day. Kath and Diana and i went to a comic book convention in Buffalo. The Buffalo power con. It was the first time in a year and a half we all got to go. Kath had passport issues for the last one last fall.

This was just a small convention with plenty of good deals. I got 15 comics for Diana, another 15 for myself, 2 graphic novels, a pocket novel and 4 action figures. All that for less than 40 bucks, It was amazing. Loved it. Afterwards we went to Teds hot dog place for lunch. Kath and i have been going there since we were dating. Great hot dogs. Did a little grocery shopping and then went home and had an epic get your geek on. Our friend Don helped us out. I was in such an awesome mood all weekend. Would my awesome mood continue to Monday when i had to return to work? Stay tuned for my next blog.

saturday with the fam

Had a fantastic weekend. Got to be with Kath and Diana saturday and sunday. Diana and i had planned a mini adventure. We were gonna walk to macdonalds for lunch--try and get her a my little pony happy toy meal she needed. Then we would walk to the new video store and end up at value village where we would look for a play set for her my little pet shop figures. Unfortunately it rained really hard so a walk was off. Kath agreed to take us. Diana got a pony and a playset, we had a nice lunch and i got a couple of dvds for 5 bucks a piece. Not to shabby. As a bonus we also went to Cheers for supper. Watched some tv to cap off the night. I love my fam.

Back on the web baby.

Wow. I haven't blogged in a long ass time. Internet was acting wonky last few weeks but seems to be ok now. Just a quick note. Justice lady still hasn't gotten justice. She called back a few times to see if anyone had followed up on her justice request.

Last week i was in training class. Apparently they want everyone to start selling products. Easier said then done. How are we supposed to sell stuff when all the customers wanna do is bitch and moan about how high their bill is? Seriously what the h? I love my job more and more every day. It really shows. So far i havent had the opportunity for a big sale. Whatever.

Happy anniversary Kstew.

Eleven years ago i married my best friend. March 10 2001 is when we took the plunge and tied the knot. It was a great day--just a small wedding with a few friends.I'm sad because Kath is at work today and we can't celebrate. She's not off tomorrow either and can't do the show. Damn you day jobs. The cool thing is--it doesn't feel like eleven years. It feels shorter than that which is cool. It always seems new and exciting. Anyhow happy anniversary baby--here's to many more.

Justice!!!

Mid way through Friday. I'm home at lunch. Its freezing out. There's a possibility of me being in shit at work so thought i'd blog about it. Well what would you do? So a crazy lady called about 2 hours ago bitching about the fact she had a past due balance of 25.00 when she had already paid 119.00. She had only paid 119.00 and the bill was 145.00 The bill was sent out in early feb and was due at the end of february. A new bill had gone out with her balance of 119.00. Now it should be noted that 2 days ago she made a change to her account to lower to 119.00 a month. This wouldnt have effected the february bill as its now March. Not hard to figure out right? Well the customer claimed she was told the past due would be lowered to 119.0 as well. I've heard this story a million times. Usually the customer hears what she wants to and blames it on someone else. I was the second person to explain the bill and she totally got how it was that balance and didn't want a credit Then she started screaming for a supervisor. I asked why and she stated
'i want justice!"
ok seriously calm down Steven Segal, It's not like someone murdered your partner days before their retirement. At this point i couldn't keep a straight face and you could hear it in my tone. Someone had lied to her about the price and she would have her revenge. So after a few minutes i stupidly asked
'did you seriously say you want justice? Were you looking to get the other representative fired?'

She totally went ape shit. How dare i suggest that. So what the hell did she mean by justice then? I agreed to get her to a supervisor and when i called over to one she hung up. So no justice was served

Then she called back and added me to the justice list. She didn't like how i spoke with her and said i refused a supervisor? I was just trying to make sense out of her craziness and waiting for her to define what justice she wanted. So a dupervisor said they would pull the call and see what i said. Yep i did come across as a smart ass so i guess we'll see Monday what happened.

3 hour gygo

So we had our first 3 hour show last Sunday. It went pretty good, I didn't run out of stuff to talk about. It was great. Our friend Mark was on. I came up with some new segments which i thought were ok. I was in a great mood after the show. I'm hoping to keep the momentum going this week. Kath has to be at her day job so Stacey is filling in. I think its gonna be fun. We're going to revisit a film i haven't seen in years--Meatballs. It was one of Bill Murray's first films. I sure hope its still funny. Wow could i start more sentences with the letter i?

Hooray for work!

First blog of March. I'm trying really hard not to be annoyed at work this week. I'm failing at that plan. I don't want to be annoyed but then the customers treat us like we are Nazis and act like they should have everything for free on a silver platter. I don't get it. I have never once called up my cable company when a promotion has ended and demanded i have the promotion forever or i will quit. What the hell? And now my bosses are expecting me to sell stuff to these people who don't want to pay for anything. Good times. I'm so glad there's only 2 more shifts until the weekend. I can't take much more of this.
