Yammy the Mischief maker

Well today was fun. While i was grilling outside my daughter got into a nail polish container. When i went outside she was laying on the couch. I caame in and smelled something funny. Diana was inder a table with a jar of nail polish. It was all over her legs and arms and dress and stuffed dog It sure was great! I got her in the tub and mannaged to scrub it off her. I had a talk with her and she says she`s sorry. I told Kath about it and turns out she did the same thing when she was a kid to. Oh well such is life i guess.

Other than that it was a nice lazy day. Watched some tv and grilled some chicken. I also pulled some weeds. I hate weeds. They totally kicked my ass. I need to invest in a weed wacker next year. Anyhow its the last day of July and I for one am gld its over. It turned out to be a craptacular month. AUgust i hope will be better.I will get to see Scott and hopefully go to a comic book convention. Depends on how much crap i can sell. I have four weeks to do sit so there is hope. Ok well thats about it. Gonna go watch me some Batman team up with Diana. Bye for now

Donut Diner:The Wrath of Kang

So i complain a lot about my job. There was a time when i worked at a worse place believe it or not. That place? The Donut Diner. I started working there 10 years ago this summer. There's way to much stuff bout the diner to write in one blog so i'll write today about the first owners i worked for. I was there for 2 and a half years and worked for 2 owners. The first was a womanizing drunk from India named Kang. What a cheap bastard. I'm surprised the health board never shut his ass down. There was a moldy piece of pumpkin pie that stayed in the front display case from October to just about new years eve. If the luncheon meat for sandwiches got to gross or slimy he just had us wash it off instead of throwing it out. He was a character. He would show up in the middle of my shift totally drunk out of his mind. One time he was spraying the store with chemicals. Did he close the store that night? Nope kept the store open.

So i used to work midnight to 6:30 in the morning 5 days a week. Yes it was the drunk croud. It was horrible. Somehow i made enemies with a douchebag named Ace. That wasnt his real name but he thought he was cool. He was loud and wore a leather hat and kind of looked like the leather guy from the Village people. He used to bad mouth me to other customers and even the boss. This is a guy who bounced at a nudie bar and would let underage kids in if they paid him. Oh and he allegedly paid an underage girl for sex. So i guess he was a good person to judge my character.

Which brings us to arch enemy 2 a female i lovingly called yappy whore. This girl named Michelle i found out was stealing tips from my fellow co workers but we couldnt prove it. One night when i was in the back she decided she would steal a whole sleeve of roll up the rim cups. Another customer alerted me to this and i went off on her. Yeah after that incident she made my life a living hell and even got her brother to threaten me into a fight. Man life was good.

Oh just remembered the first of the month when welfare checks came out. I couldnt believe the ammount of people that came in and would blow their money on stupid shit. One customer i swear would go across the street and literally buy over 100 dollars in lotto tickets and scratch them all night.

Not everything about that job was bad. I actually managed to make some friends for life. Kim, Saleena, Mike and Adriel. All good people who managed to get me through those Godforsaken shifts. Lots of good memories. One that stands out was New Years eve 2000. Kang refused to give me the night off wven though i had booked it off about 2 months in advance. Good thing to i think we had a total of 3 customers that night. Anyhow the whole gang came in with Kath with food and booze and kept me company. It was awesome until Kang came into check up on me.Don't worry we hid all the evidence and we werent caught. THe main reason i started reminicing about the diner is becasue Saleena and Kim and i were planning a reunion of sorts. So i will thank them and Mike and Adriel for keeping me sane during those times. Couldnt have done it if they hadnt visited me.

There was another owner who took over the diner but thats a story for another time.

When life gives you lemons, throw them at someone you hate

I'm seriously trying to be in a good mood today. The Stewart family has had a rough couple of weeks and i think its catching up with me today. I woke up really sad today. I'm trying to sell a bunch of old crap to try and go to the comic book convention at the end of August. Life seems to be getting me down today. So that being said I'm going to try and concentrate on some positive things. There are actually some good things going on with me. Lets take a look.

1/ My friend Scott is getting on a plane today and soon i will see him for the first time in 10 years.

2/ My friend Rob has offerred me a job working on his radio show for a couple of episodes. It should be fun. He says its really easy. Oh and there will be cash involved to. Cash is nice.

3/ Kath found an american express gift certificate she recieved from her work a while ago. Its only good at certain stores. It is actually good at the Pen cinemas. So on Sunday i will actually get to see the new Judd Apatow movie Funny People--for free. I like anything thats free. It'll be goos to laugh for a couple of hours.

4/ I'm not working today. I'm thankful for that. I thought i was going to snap yesterday. I got called everything from a "fucking dumb ass" to a "God damned liar." I don't honestly know how i got through the 10 hour shift without beating someone senseless.

5/My family and friends. As low as i have felt this last week i have had my friends and family looking out for me.

Ok I'm going to go hang out with Diana and have some lunch and hope that this sadness I'm feeling goes away. Perhaps i will put on a Coach episode or 2. Thanks for listening everybody

Thanks for the good word Terminator guy-you crazy bastard

Hey there just a quick update on crazy drunk Terminator guy from the other day. My boss handed me a card today stating that terminator guy did put in a good word for me and that he thought i was very helpful. Lets sum up, He was crazy and rambled on about fighting a war with computers and i did nothing for him.

Today was a good day as only 2 customers told me what to go do with myself. What a drag of a day. I felt like crap when i woke up and came home at lunch to see Diana was ill as well. Poor kid. Kath stayed home with her. She's resting now.

Got an email from Scott today. He will be in Canada in a couple of days. I can't wait. It should be fun.

Well gonna go help Kath with dinner. I love bacon. Talk to you soon.

40-ugh

Well yesterday it finally happenned. I turned 40. I can't believe i am that old. I still feel like a kid. I collect comic books and get excited about comic book conventions. Thats not the mind set of a 40 year old is it? I guess its not that bad. We went to John and Rach's house last night for dinner and cake. It was very nice. I totally slopped out on cake. I got some nice presents from my family. As usual my mom gave me Christmas ornaments in July. Thats cool though. I got an awesome Indiana Jones ornament that plays the Raiders march and a cool Batman ornament that climbs. It wasnt so bad turning 40 i guess. I got to celebrate with family and friends and thats the main thing. Thus begins the countdown to 41...

Waiting on a Sunny Day

Things annoying me today.

1/ So are we going to have summer weather at some point this summer? Man it rained all night again. It was wet and gross all day and prevented Diana and I from going to the park. Damn you right to hell rain!

2/ my toungue feels like its burnt. I didnt eat anything hot or even any sour candy. I ate a salad. So apparently lettuce cause your toungue to hurt now? Seriously?

3/ Comic con is going on in San Diego and I'm not there. It is the dream that someday Kath and i get to go there. Its the biggest comic book convention in North America, There's going to be a big Iron Man 2 presentation with Robert Downey Junior is going to be there. Going would involve a lot of money. Hopefully someday we will get there.

Cool things going on in my life

1/Had the day off, Any day when i'm not working is a good one.

2/ a friend of ours Salena is in Ontario. She moved to Edmonton a few years back. Anyhow Kath and i met get together with her and another friend Kim who we haven't seen in a million years. I met both Sal and Kim 10 years ago when i worked at the Donut Diner. It was the worst job i ever held down and they and a few other friends kept me sane as i served coffee to drunks all night. I think i feel a whole series of blogs coming on.

3/Got a copy of the new Green Lantern animated film. Watched half of it with Diana. Diana was really liking it but she wanted to color. So we will watch the other half tomorrow,

4/all my chores are done so tomorrow i can be a lazy bastard and lay around the house.

Thats all for now. Take care everybody. Hopefully tomorrow will be sunny.

Hasta la vista, baby.

Ok so i talked to maybe the strangest customer of all time today. He was clearly insane but entertaining as well. Turns out he was a vietnam vet and he had a lot of interesting things to say. I will write down the highlights sorry about the language.

1/ started the call off by complaining about our automated payment line. He didnt want to use it because it was like the terminator movies? He stated that the terminator movies will come true and one day we will be in a God damn bullshit war with computers. As a matter of fact he claimed to have fought a war with the computers. I was waiting for him to say "I'll be back"

2/ asked me if i was a tough guy. I said no so he asked me if i liked girls? Wouldnt answer me when i asked what that has to do with his bill.

3/Asked for my name. When i said Jason he said he loved my name. He then brought up the friday the 13th movies which apparently are also real. He went on to say that all movies come true. So i guess someday a giant marshmellow man will attack new york and captain kirk will come back in time to save the humpback whales.

4/said he worked for nasa. Well yeah a brain like him? Of course he was a top scientist at nasa. Maybe he will invent time travel as well.

5/Asked me if i knew who he was? When i said no he replied that he was a navy seal who doesnt give a fuck about anything and doesnt like bullshit or god damn computers.
6/asked for a supervisor to compliment me for being honest and not giving him any bullshit, I did nothing to help him out. I repeat nothing. But apparently i helped him out a great deal. I connected him to a co worker named Sarah who told me he said the cia was probably listening in on their call and she shouldnt be surprised if she sees him dead on the news. And apprently he praised me. Oh and i gues he was drunk. Big surprise. So i have a glowing review from a hammerred, crazy vietnam rocket scientist in my folder at work. Yay me!

No one is allowed to touch my silver sow award

Miserable Monday as usual. All i have to say is why can't there be a bikini carwash everyday. The day totally dragged. Customers were brutal as usual. Woke up this morning and was so out of it i thought it was Saturday. Not cool.

Came home and watched some shows I had recorded. I'm very excited. WGN is playing 2 of my all time favorite comedy series, Coach and WKRP in Cincinatti. I hadn't seen the shows in years but they are still hillarious. The only bad thing is a lot of the music has been replaced with generic music. Oh well at least Lionel Ritchie made the cut. Man i used to think Bailey Quarters was hot. Watching the shows made me laugh after such a horible day. I think the reason i took broadcasting in college was because i wanted to be the new Johnny Fever. Hell i would have settled for being the new Les Nessman.

I'm just sitting here waiting for Kath and Diana to come home. I can't wait to hug and kiss both of them. I started making dinner so we can eat soon after they arrive home.Man i want this week to be over. My birthday is next Sunday and i just want to get it over with. I did get a card in the mail from my aunt today which was nice. Man i hope being 40 doesnt suck. I still feel like I'm a kid. Oh well. Only 20 hours more of work until i get a day off. This is gonna be a long ass week.

Happy to be home but missing my family

Hey folks. Just arrived from work about half an hour ago. What a horrendous day. Started off great. Not really. I woke up on time but fell asleep in the bathroom. That was awesome. I left the house with 4 minutes to go before my shift started. Got to work and saw that more than half of my fellow co workers had called in sick. Needless to say it was very busy all day long. The yelling customers started right off the bat as well. I was losing my voice after the fifth call or so.It was great. I should mention that one cool thing did happen at work today. We werent tortured with lame ass cartoons and the lights stayed on all day. Thank God for small things. I was able to come home for lunch and see Kath and Diana so that was cool.

On my break as i was taking a walk around the building as i often do i noticed something going on at the restaurant next to work. I walked over and lo and behold a bikini car was was going on. I felt like i had stepped into an 80's teen comedy or a whitesnake video. I am a guy so i will admit that i stopped to watch for a couple minutes. Whatever gets you through work.

Looking forward to just relaxing with the fam tomorow. I miss them. They went shopping with Nickle tonight. Man i can't wait to get proper id to cross the border. Maybe before the end of summer if i'm lucky.

Yesterday i bought issue one of a creepy but cool comic book series called Blackest Night. Its pretty much about super heros that return from the dead to form the Black Lantern corp . Pretty much any dc comics super hero who has died in the last 20 years will be showing up. Can't wait for Nickle to read it.

Anyhow thats about it i guess. Gonna go grill some chicken and play some lego Indy. Have a great night.

Jay and Scott film makers extraordinaire

Howdy folks. I emailed my friend Scott today. Its getting closer to his visit to Canada. I can't wait. Ten years is a long time to see one of your best friend. SO i was thinking of some sort of Scott tale i could tell today. I already talked about our air guitar experiences and the novel we wrote. I guess i could tell you that we;re also film makers that would give George Lucas a run for their money. Nah not really but in the winter of 1986 we did film a documentary of sorts.

We were in theatre arts tgether and had to do some sort of presentation. I don't remember what the assignment was or why we chose the subject we did. We filmed a biography on the group Wham. You know the "wake me up before you go go" guys. I played a convincing George Michael and Scott was Andrew Ridgely. You might also know him as "the other guy from wham." So looking back on it now its pretty much one long 45 minute gay joke. At the time no one knew for sure what their sexual orientation was. We kind of implied they were really into each other. Keep in mind this was years before George Michael came out of the closet. We just knew.

Somehow we got an A on the video. We did nothing but mock the band and make it seem like it was the end of the world when they broke up. We embelleshed quite a bit. In real life Andrew Ridgelys girlfriend had dumped him for actor Don Johnson. In our video i played Don Johnson. I walked in slow motion down a hallway with a toy gun, miami vice style. I kicked in a door, grabbed a girl playing his girlfriend and walked back out the door. Scott improvised the line "i guess its back to men again."

Man we even filmed Wham's farewell concert complete with 1 person sitting in the audience. The lone audience member- a guy by the way rushes the stage yelling "i love you guys!" reaches into his shirt and throws a bra on stage. Yeah i cant understand how we got an A either.

There were other videos we filmed during high school and i still have them all. That was the first one though. It was fun. I can't believe our teacher liked it that much. Anyhow thats it for now. Talk to you soon.

its not the years-its the mileage

A big happy birthday to one of the greatest actors of our generation: Harrison Ford. He's responsible for 2 of the freatest characters of all time Han Solo and Indiana Jones and he made the kesel run in less than 12 parsecs. Sure he made the movie Random Hearts but he still rules. Can't believe he's 67. I hope i look half that good when I'm that age. SO happy birthday Harrison hope you enjoy some cake with Short Round and Chewbacca.

If Roger Rabitt was real he would be getting a punch in the mouthl

I love Sundays with the family. I got to sleep in . Right there is a plus. No screaming customers to put up with, Woke up and had bacon and low carb pancakes. I lost 1 of the 2 ponds i gained from eating all the cake the other night. Oh and today we got the first episode in a new batch of brave and the bold(or as Diana calls it Batman team up) cartoons. It was really cool. One of the characters on today was a guy named the Question. He has a mask that makes him look like he doesnt have a face. His comic book series from the late 80's is still one of my favorites. Yes i am a nerd. Diana says she liked him on the cartoon. Love my kid.

Speaking of comic book characters. To follow up my green Lantern post from a few days ago, turns out Ryan Reynolds will be playing him and not Justin Timberlake. This is good news for Kath and I as i think he's funny and Kath thinks he is hot. So its a win-win situation.

Already have all my chores completed for the day. After Diana has her bath gonna go outside and practice the bike. She really wants to show her mommy she is getting better at pedalling. Just gonna take it easy the rest of the day and not worry about anything until tomorrow.

Work was brutal yesterday. Yesterday the skies got dark and it rained pretty hard. The powers that be still insisted on turning out the lights and playing cartoons no one cared about. Because it was dark outside already and no sun light was coming in.it was much darker than usual. It was really a strain on the old eyes as the only light there was the light from the computer monitors. I made a few comments to managers but nothing happenned. So i got a headache. So thank you work. I enjoyed getting a headache and not being able to see. At least it was because you had to play Who framed Roger Rabitt--twice. Seriously that movie wasnt good twenty years ago. I couldnt wait to get out of there yesterday. After work the fam and Nick Merry went to 7 11 for free slurpee day. Sadly that was the only thing getting me through work. Ah yeah free Slurpees!!

Well gonna go make sure Diana gets her bath. If anything interesting happens i will write later. Peace!

its my di - -- in a lantern

Its Friday my second day off of 2. Just relaxing. Diana is eating breakfast and watching sesame street. Had a pretty good night last night. John and Rach and their kids came over for a visit to watch the new Big Brother.Diana was happy to play with Becca again. Her room looked like a tornado afterwards. Diana helped me clean up though so it was ok. The visit was fun but I broke my diet though and ate chips and cake. Back on track today. Kath is working today and then she is going to Rochester. She won't be back until later tonight. I miss her. Man i cant wait to get my passport.

Wow just read that Justin Timberlake is up for the part of Green Lantern. Not sure how i feel about this. Although I'm not a fan of Timberlakes music, his acting is allright. I think an older actor should play the role. I heard Bradley Cooper of The Hangover is also up for the role. Him i can see. Who knows. I also thought Heath Ledger was a bad choice to play the Joker and i was wrong about that.

Gonna get going soon. Diana wants to go outside and explore with her binoculars. She wants to go find some "robin" birds.

Ok back from exploring. Its friggin' hot out there! only saw a couple of birds, Came home and practiced the bike riding for a bit. I grilled some burgers and now we're settling in to watch some justice league cartoons. I love relaxing. Too bad its over tomorrow. Oh well Have a great evening ftiends

He'd have to wear a kryptonite condom-but that would kill him

Last night Rob and i were discussing the 2006 film Superman Returns. Now i liked the movie a lot and actually thought Brandon Routh made a great Superman/Clark Kent. I remember when Kath and I saw it in the theater i felt like a little kid again when the opening credits started and the John Williams Superman theme started playing. I wasnt dissappointed with the movie. Three years later thinking about it-there were a couple of thing that didnt sit right with me.

1} Superman didnt punch anything! There were a few awesome action scened where he stopped a crashing airplane and things like that but no fighting. Well there was kind of a fight scene that bothered me. He got around some kryptonite and then Kumar(of Harold and... fame} was beating him up.

2} the movie was suppossed to be a continuation of the original first 2 superman films from the late 70's/early 80's. If you recall in Superman 2 he lost his powers,Lois Lane found out he was Clark Kent and they ended up doing the deed. By the end of the movie Clark gave her a super kiss and made her forget everything that happenned. Ok fine thats cool. However in Superman Returns Lois has a super kid as a result of having relations with the man of steel. Here comes the plot hole--Superman made her forget they had sex. So she's not at all concerned that somehow she was pregnant with supermans kid but doesnt remember sleeping with him? She's not thinking maybe he slipped her a super roofie and went to town?

ok really thats the only things that bothered me about it. I hope if they ever get around to making a sequel He at least throws a couple of punches. Just read that Brandon Rouths contract for doing a sequel has expired. Hope there would be away to let him be in another superman film if there ever is one. Or I'd be happy seeing him in more Kevin Smith films. And thats Jay harping on super hero movies yet again

Random Thursday thoughts

Welcome to wednesday. Another day off for Jay. So far so good. No mail today which means no bills. So thats cool. Already started laundry, cleaned kitty litter and i've washed half the dishes. Gonna get all my chores out of the way so i can just lay on the couch and hang out with Diana for the next day and a half. Kath is off at 5 so i will get to spend a bit of time with her.

Rob and Nickle came over for a bit last night. I'm actually a bit jealous. They are going camping. I've been wanting to camp with Kath since we met 10 years ago. I think it would be awesome. I havent camped sober since i was a kid. Not sure what Diana would think about sleeping in a tent. Also i don`t have a tent anymore. I had a pretty good tent that i only got to use once. It was destroyed in our last home. We had a lousy wet, moldy basement which also destroyed the baseball glove i had planned to teach Diana to play catch with. Thats neither here nor there. Someday i will make it to camping with my family. Someday. By the way Nickle its good to see you blogging again and i do miss the saturday evening grocery shopping to the states.

More guests were announced for the convention. The soup nazi. dave thomas of Bob and Doug McKenzie fame and film legend Tony Curtis. I don`t understand the last one. Kath mentioned his wife was in phycho and his daughter was in halloween. Rob says he wants to stand in line and ask him "why are you here?"

So just heard Transformers 2 has made 300 million dollars in 14 days. Wow how does something like that happen? I have no desire to see it. I saw the first one and thought it was just ok. I havent heard one good thing about the sequel and havent heard any positive reviews. I like the theme by Cheap Trick and the slurpee cups. Thats as far as I'll go.

Man. Kath's work took away her chatting tool that allowed her to chat with me. This is the first time in a few years that we havent been able to at least say hi when she's at work. I gotta admit i miss it already. I think it sucks. Oh well.

Well gonna rap up the rambling and take Diana to Macdonalds again for her weekly walk and sundae. I'm hoping when Kath gets home maybe we can go for slurpees. Anyhow talk to you soon,

Jay

Diana the rock star makes me happy

Note to self. Next year remember to book the 2 days off following the july 4th holiday . It has been beyond horrible yesterday and today at work. It was super busy all day. Oh and one guy said if i hung up on him he would find me and jam a phone up my ass. Charming. So i've really been working on thinking happy thoughts. The happiest thought i had? My daughter now knows the Indiana Jones theme and hums it. She is totally my hero!! She can also spell her first and middle names. Oh and also last night she put on every piece of jewelley a possible and a big pair of Elton John glasses and said she was a rockstar. That was entertaining. Those happy thoughts get me through my shitty days. If i can get through tomorrow i'll be ok. I hope tomorrow goes fast. Wow i thought i had a lot to say tonight but apparently not.

Hope he gets a new drug for his birthday

Happy birthday to the man who has greatly inspired my life and taught me some life lessons. That man of course is Huey Lewis. Huey taught me that it's hip to be square, that time ain't money and that there ain't no living in a perfect world. I raise a glass to you and thank you for all the great music Mr. Lewis. Now how about putting out a new album while were both young enough to enjoy it.

Jay`s good mood continues into saturday!

So a saturday that i thought would blow goats turned out to be awesome! SO i had to work today. Its 4th of July in America and usually we are closed. You know on account of all our customers being from America. Earlier this week we got a memo stating we were going to be open but only the smaller markets would be calling in. Ok whatever. I worked July 1st and got holiday pay so i was ok with not working on the 4th. Oh well. It would be good for the paycheck. Long story it was incredibly dead at work. I took 2 calls in 7 and a half hours. I read a lot of comics. Here`s the best part--no lame saturday cartoons!! It was beautiful!! At 3:15 they finally pulled the plug and let everyone go home. So i got paid for 7 hours to basically read comic books. Sometimes life is so good it hurts! Im now in a good mood for 2 days straight. Kath is a bit weirded out by that. I guess i am too. I should be in a happy mood Sunday to. Monday I'm sure will feature the return of Jay in a bad mood.

So got home and found an email from my buddy Scott. As you recall Scott is one of my best friends who lives in England. Earlier this year he had written that he was coming to Canada for a visit. I hadnt heard from him in awhile so i emailed to see if his plans were still a go. So happy to report he is still coming in August. I can't wait! Can we just skip July? All it is is a dumb month where i turn 40. In August Scott is visiting and theres a comic book convention. Stupid July. Oh and Scott confirned that he actually reads my blog. SO i think that makes maybe 10 people now! So Scott if you're reading this, rock on fellow amigo! Can't wait to hang out with ya again.

We finished the day off by watching The Adam Sandler film Reign Over Me. A real happy movie about a guy who lost his whole family on 9/11. Yes it was a sad movie but he still managed to make me laugh a few times, That wacky Adam Sandler. Now please enjoy another picture of my perm mullet with the other 2 amigos.

The Friday that rocked hard

Friday was a pretty cool day. We got paid. Pay days are nice. I like them. We started the day off with lunch at cheers. Yes i am still dieting and actually had a salad instead of fries. While we were eating Nicole showed up. She swears she wasnt stalking us. SHe asked me if i wanted to catch a movie with Rob that evening. I was cool with that. Kath insists Rob and I were on a date. Diana kept yelling `they`re not on a date!`Thats my girl. After lunch we paid some bills, bought some groceries and looked at a few used video game/dvd shops. I buy a lot of our dvds used. As a matter of fact we usually find awesome deals at Jumbo video. Yesterday we bought Iron man, Pineapple Express and Role Models for under 20 dollars. Probably gonna go back after we get paid again and pick up the Dark Knight and the 24 movie. Wealso checked out a new video place on welland avenue. I think its called Entertainment overload. So many awesome prices in there. I picked up season 4 of a little known show called Grounded for Life. What was cool about that was i had only seen season 4 in the usa for almost 40 bucks. I'd never seen it in Canada although we had picked up seasons 1 through 3 here. Oh and it was only 15 bucks! That rocked. I`m a fan of not spending too much money on stuff. That rocks. Oh also got 2 more slurpee cups for the collection. There`s already Gi Joe cups. Come on 7-11 slow down huh. Pace yourself. This is the fourth cup promo since the end of May.

Met up with Rob and Nicole. Happy birthday by the way Rob! Kath and Nickle and Diana crossed the river for groceries and gas. Man i`m really missing these trips. But I will probably either have a passport or card soon so its all good. Rob and i decided to see The Hangover. It was friggin hillarious. It was by the same guy who was behind old school and road trip so it was to be expected. Kath is watching a bootleg today so i can`t wait to talk to her about it. After that came home and waited for the fam to come home. It was a sweet day. I like good days. They are nice. The end.

Happy birthday fellow amigo

So today is my friend Colin's birthday. Been thinking about him a lot today. We met in grade 9 and really became good friends in grade 10. We were good friends for over 20 years. We went through alot. He got me my first job in 1988 and we were in each others wedding parties. He was the one who got me into Bruce Springsteen and at the same time i got him into Billy Joel. We had a bit of a falling out a couple of years ago. It really sucks. He was like a brother to me and we had a lot of great times. If he somehow reads this just wanted to wish him a great 40th birthday and i hope that someday we will at least speak to one another again

Ok enough depressing stuff. I'm here on my day off with Diana. Gonna give her a bath and then later we will do what has become our new weekly ritual. We walk to Macdonalds and she gets a sundae and i get a large pop. She likes to press the button for the light to change on the corner. This week she will be trying a caramel sundae. It gets us out of the house and walking is good exercise. Can't wait until tomorrow. Going to hang out all day with Kath and Diana. Gonna be great.

Watched the movie Babe last night and i will admit it made me tear up a bit. What a sweet story about a talking pig. Probably gonna watch igor tonight. John Cusack as a mad scientist. should be nice. Anyhow going to Macdonalds now. Hope everybody has a great day!

Canada rules--despite hating Cheap Trick

Good day and welcome to July. I'm Jason Stewart and this is my blog. Happy Canada day to my Canadian friends. I think i will break out my Bryan Adams cd's or maybe watch a Toronto Blue Jays game. I worked today. It was time and a half pay so that was cool. Only got yelled at a couple of times today. One guy of course was disputing the fact his teen age son ordered "slam it in a young whore" and "after his bratwurst". I love the customers.

Man I'm Not looking forward to July. In 26 days i turn 40. Mick Jagger was right- What a drag it is getting old. Speaking of which i share a birthday with Mick. I don't know maybe turning 40 will be ok. I hated turning 30 but a month after i did i met Kath the love of my life. We'll see. Maybe something good will happen after i turn 40.
Speaking of feeling old i just read that 20 years ago last week the original Batman movie was released. Man time flies. How is that 20 years ago? I remember standing in long lines at the old pen centre cinemas to get in. That was actually the last movie i ever went to with my dad. THe summer of 1989 was awesome from what i recall. Good times with good friends. Drinking and watching Michael Keaton in a black rubber rodent suit.

Can't wait until friday. Gonna hang out with the fam all day. We'll probably checkout some used dvd/game stores to see if theres any cool cheap deals.Still looking to get a cheap copy of Iron man and The Dark Knight.

Just downloaded the newest Cheap Trick cd last night. I really wanted to go out and buy it but for some reason their cd's don't come in to Canada. Maybe there's a law banning new Cheap Trick albums in our country. The new album kicks ass. It really rocks. I'd love to go see them in concert again some day. If they werent on the same bill as Def Leppard and Poison i would totally go see them at the Molson Ampitheatre this week. Anyhow gonna go watch some tv with Kath.
