See ya April

wow just realized that its the last day of April. I am so beat. Just got back from the park. Was playing catch with Diana. Man that kid has a lot of energy. She wore me out. Soent the day setting up her new book shelf and cleaning up the living room and cleaning Diana's room. I feel like i could pass out at any second. It sucks getting old. Just heard from Kath. We can do live and not pre recorded shows may 16 and 23rd. That makes me happy. I just realized i don't have much to say. i think I'm gonna go lay on my new couck. Here's hoping May is a good month for everyone. Oh yeah--1 week til Iron Man 2!! Nice.

Furniture Adventure

Man i am exhausted and sore today. I'm getting really old. So Kath's boss sold her some furniture- a hutch, a bookcase and a dryer. Rob came ove last night and we headed to the house of Kath's boss Dave to pivk up the furniture. When we arrived he offerred us some couches as well--for free. I had to think about it for a minute because i didnt know what we were going to do with the old couches. Rob said we could drop the couches off at value village. It was a bit sad because they were the first furniture kath and i had bought together 9 years ago.


So we loaded up our van and Rob's truck and managed to get everthing here in 2 trips. Nickle was here watching Diana and her and i got the dryer down to the basement. I felt a little bit bad. After we went back for our second trip Nickle got stuck talking to our idiot neighbour batman.

So yeah it was an adventure. Arms were killing me, actually drank 2 beers when we were done. I rarely drink anymore. We got the couches set up immediately. It does look pretty good. So thanks Rob and Nickle for the help last night. You guys rule! I love u new couches!

No calls. Boo hoo.

Work kinda kicked ass today. Why you may ask? I'll tell you. At 2:20 our computer system went down followed shortly by our phone system. So what does this mean? I didnt have to take a call for 3 hours! Then at 5:15 i was sent home early. Taking no calls for 3 hours? Priceless! I came home early and watched the latest Terminator movie. It was ok--not the greatest but it beat getting yelled at by customers!

Long day officially over at last

Just got back from work. For the most part it was an ok day. Then with only an hour and a half left-every asshole in the world called in. Man do i dislike my job. I'm sure this is news to everyone. I've said it before i'll say it again--why can't Get your geek on be my day job? Speaking of which the show went off without a hitch last night. It wAs pre recorded for the first time in a couple of months.


Had a really good day yesterday. Diana and i hung out and straightened out her room a bit. Went through her shirt drawer to see if any shirts were to small. Made out pretty good. Only had to take 5 shirts out of the rotation, yup you guessed it i am quite the party animal!

Well gonna go relax and try and forget about todays shift, Have a great night all.

unexpected call

So i recieved a call this week from the last person i would have expected. No Jenniffer Love Hewitt wasnt calling to ask me on a date. It was Colin. He had heard about my father and wanted to make sure i was ok. He had called early in the day and asked that i call him back. I really had to think about it. My mom convinced me to call him back. She said there was 25 years of friendship there and he was obviously reaching out to him.

So later that night i called him back to hear what he had to say. It wasnt as bad as i thought it was going to be. He generally sounded sorry about my dad. He also mentioned he wanted to make ammends about what had happenned. He admitted that he had been an asshole to me and wants to get together to talk about it over a beer. I'm willing to hear him out. Obviously things will never be the same again. I'm still feeling hurt over the whole situation. I guess i'll wait to pass judgement after our conversation.
Anyhow its Sunday night and going to put Diana to bed now. Have a great week everyone!

Kick ass kicked ass.

To get my mind off of things Rob had me sit in on his show. It was pretty fun. So thanks for having me on again.


A few nights ago Kath and Rob and Nickle took me to see the movie Kick ass. It was really well done. The idea behind it was what would happen if someone in the real world decided to be a super hero. As expected you would get your ass kicked in real life. Cool film though. My favorite character was a 10 year old girl named Hit Girl who swore her head off and stabbed people. Good times! I love comic book movies. Bring on Iron Man 2!

My father

Well theres no easy way to tell what else happenned in my life this week. I found out that my father had passed away. As you all know i hadnt spoken to him in 15 years. A few months the woman i refuse to call step mother cornered me at a show and gave me their email address. I honestly sat down at the computer and tried to write something. I couldnt come up with anything so i didnt send anything. I guess he'd been in a coma in the hospital for a week.

This may make me sound heartless but i decided not to go to the hospital. i talked to Kath about it and to me it may have been a stranger in the hospital. I also realized i wouldnt feel bad if i never said goodbye. As far as i was concerned i said goodbye 15 years ago. Did i want him to pass away? Of course not but i felt as if i already had closure. If in 10 years i regret my descision than thats still my descision.

I'm really happy i didn't go to the hospital. Maggie--the anti step mother was acting like a total bitch according to my sister. I guess she was bad mouthing my mother and being ignorant. I had no desire to be part of that. Screw that noise. I'm glad i wasnt part of that drama.

Anyhow my dad passed away saturday. Maggie wated about a day and a half before telling my sister. What a bitch. I decided to skip the funeral as well. I have to commend my mother for going to the funeral home despite the evil bitch from hell. I'm totally here for my mom and sister but it didnt feel right for me to go. I didnt even feel sad which i know is bad. Even as a kid it was my mom that always did stuff with Su and I. My dad couldnt be bothered. My sister tried to get closer to him in the later years but it seemed like he couldnt be bothered with that either.

This just made me realize what a good father i want to continue to be to Diana and if i ever pull the same kind of stuff i expect her to not talk to me for 15 years or longer. Anyhow I'm gonna move on to happier news from the week.

The crime spree at ventura bolevard

So haven't blogged all week. A lot of stuff happenned this week. A lot of shitty stuff,some good things. I'm gonna try and remember what i did this week. The week started off awesome! By awesome i mean over the top awful. So apparently Sunday night a bunch of cars and vans in our complex got broken into--including ours! Lucky for us we were apparently dealing with a bunch of dumb ass kids. They took a dollar in change we had in the van and left all the winning scratch tickets and passports and i pod chord. Rach's van was also broken into. Bunch of dickheads. I actually found a purse with its contents spilled on the ground on my way to work. No id though so i had no way to return it. Whats with people today? Man that grinds my gears. Man i hate people--but i love gatherings.

Flea markets rule!

Wow went with Rob to the flea market yesterday morning. I hadn't been in years and it was Diana's first visit. It was a lot better than i remembered--lots of toys and records. They even had live bunnies and baby chicks. Diana wouldnt let me get a chick because we have cats. Man so many cool old super hero toys there. I could easily spend a million dollars there. I actually spent 2 dollars. I bought a little spiderman burger king toy. He has a removable cloth mask. You take it off and bam! Its Tobey Macguire! It was the only toy i needed from that particular line of toys. So the geek in me rejoiced! For some reason every other vendor had n sync pupper dolls. I'm not sure why exactly.

Man i used to really love going to the flea market when i was younger. I remember buying all my old rock star pins there and i even found a couple of rare bruce springsteen records. Kath says she might be interested in checking out the flea market sometime. I felt really old. That particualr market opened in 1987. Good times.

Did some chores in the afternoon. Kath came home and we went to Rob's home to do our show. It was 6 months to the day that we started get your geek on. Its been a fun ride and hope to continue doing it for awhile. Anyhow thats it for my Sunday. Take care everyone.

A carefree Friday.

Wow it is really poring rain. I was gonna go to the park with the yamster and play some catch. There's always next week. Spending the day inside when its raining still beats being at work getting pissed off. Its not that bad today. I cleaned one of my bathrooms and did laundry and ate chocolate. Thats a pretty good way right there! Gonna watch a Bugs life with Diana--its the only Pixar movie I havent seen.

Its now the end of the day. Just put diana to bed. Kath and i started to watch some of the old Flash series from 1990. Its part of our tribute to flash episode on Sunday. Kath fell asleep so i figured i'd head off to bed to, Busy day of getting yelled at ahead of me. Anyhow have a great night everybody!

Flash rings make the world go round

I'm having a pretty swell day today. No work today! That is definately a plus. We went to the comic book store and i was given a replica of the Flash's ring. In the comics he stores his costume in the ring and when the costume hits the air it expands. Man i am such a nerd. Just got back from taking a walk. Diana and i went to Tim Hortons to try a new donut with m and m's on the top.

Man it is really nice outside. I can't believe it snowed last weekend. Wish Kath was here. It really sucks that we rarely have a day off together. Oh well what can ya do i guess.

Oh yeah i ran into the coolest old man at tim hortons. He looked at my Avengers shirt and said "iron man in the gold arbour and ant man and the wasp!" Cool that i met a geek even older than me! Speaking of being a geek I'm gonna get back to my research for this Sundays show. Have a great day everybody!

Bring on the lost Goodness!!

Another crappy day has come and gone and i thank my lucky stars its over. I can't wait until Kath gets home to watch Lost and eat some chicken wing dip. Nothing fixes a bad day like that combination--Kath,Hurley and chips!

uhg---just ugh

I'm not gonna lie--today was brutal. The day started off slow and cool. In the afternoon after lunch there was only calls from morons. Case in point--

1. A lady called in disputing a charge she had on a bill since 2007. We have a policy that if there is an error on a bill than you have 30 days to dispute this. At the most we can offer a 90 day credit. Which is what i did. She didn't accept this and asked for a supervisor. A supervisor actually offerred a 2 year cred totalling 600.00 dollars. I have never seen a credit being offerred for 2 years, She said no. To be blunt--what the fuck? That would have taken care of at least 6 bills. What an idiot

2. A guy called in who orders about 15 porno movies a month. This went back to about 2008. He thought they were all suppossed to be free. Which ones are you disputing? I stupidly asked. All of them he replied. First of all we don't offer free adult movies. Secondly why havent you called at all in 2 years? Some of the titles ordered included-- "black ass masters," "2008 Palin Erection," ""black holes," and "i came in your mom." He also ordered that shitty miami vice remake with Colin Farrell. I should have declined the credit based on that fact alone.

3- A guy who i thought was a lady couldnt verify the account information therefore i couldnt help her/him. She finally gave me shit for calling her/him ma'am and proceded to tell me about the fact she was a trans gender.

There's many many more examples of my craptacular day but I'm gonna go grill some burgers. Until next time

Just a quick response back to Rob. He commented on the last blog. Buddy i would never call you Colin. For one you are not a douche. I cant imagine you or Nickle ever betraying us like that. You guys are great and we are very lucky for knowing you. I'm totally feeling better today and again not sure why i took it hard that he had a facebook profile. Maybe i just had a bad day,maybe it was my time of the month --i don't know. Plus Colin never got me an interview with Erin Gray. So screw him and i hope someday he gets caught by his wife. Yup I'm good for holding a grudge. So anyhow thanks again for the comment. You rock.

Emotional Jay

Wow i must have had a really bad day or something. I just saw something on facebook and it really pissed me off. I'm not sure why it bothered me so much but i feel like i got punched in the mouth or something.

So as you know last year i had a falling out with my best friend of 25 years Colin. He was accusing me of stuff that wasnt my fault. Anyhow he flat out told me our friendship was done. Whatever. So i thought i was over it. I admit that every once in awhile i would hear a song on the radio or see something on tv that reminded me of happier times and i would feel a little bad. It didn't matter to me though--his choice whatever. A few minutes ago i had checked out the "friends you should add" section on facebook. Lo and behold Colin created a new facebook profile and requested all of our friends. I'm mad at myself for letting this bother me. Anyhow just a little venting folks. i think I am calming down. Doesnt help that i'm in a really bad mood because of work. Such is life. Nothing 2 hours of Jack Bauer goodness won't fix tonight.

Welcome back to the U.S.A. Jay!

Man my wife is great at cheering me up. I had a rotten week at work. Not so much the customers for a change. I failed another quality and am constantly feeling like i'm walking on egg shells while taking a call. Anyhow about an hour after i got home last night Kath asked me if i wanted to go to the states with her. I hadn't been in a year and i recently got my passport so of course i was up for it. We had to get wrapping paper and a card as it's my nephew's birthday.

So we went over and both border guards were douches. I didn't miss that part of the trips. We went to Target and they had so many cool super hero toys. Yup I am a 40 year old kid. We bought a few easter things for Diana and Kath got me a really cool super hero shirt with just about every Avenger there ever was. I was the only one that didnt't get a t shirt last week at the con so she felt bad for me. The picture on the shirt is from Classic Avengers issue 1--see side for the picture. On a side note i want to but a black t shirt with a black lantern symbol on it. Maybe I'll go as the black Lantern version of myself to the next con.

We also got a couple of emergency groceries at wegmans. Following that we took a trip to 7 11. Why you may ask? Its slurpee cup season once again! Iron Man 2 cups are out. For some reason not in Canada though. That really sucks. There's big gulp cups this year as well. Looks like I'll be drinking a lot of pop and slurpees this year. Oh well a guy's gotta do what he's gotta do. We got a tony stark and a war machine cup. Perhaps next week i'll be drinking out of scarlette johanson. All right!

Came home and colored easter eggs. A couple of years ago when Diana was just a baby we got a Super man returns set. We finally put the set together. Diana had a lot of fun. So thanks Stewart family for cheering me up.

Happy Easter gang! Woke up early to watch Diana search for easter eggs. The Easter Bunny brought her some cool stuff including a hippo web kinz stuffed animal that she named "Star Wars." Yup i have corrupted my daughter and turned her into a nerd like me. My work is done. Had some breakfast and now getting ready to go to my mom's for dinner. I'm hoping the upcoming week is less stressfull at work. I do not like being scared to take a call because my supervisor may fail me again. Not cool. Anyhow gonna shower and get the kid dressed.
