Good Riddance new markets

Work is done for 2 days. I'm pretty stoked about that. It was the last day of the new markets to. They'll be missed. Not. Kath got out of her work early and picked me up from work. We went to the comic book and bought a couple of titles. Came home and ate home made pizza and watched the first hour of transformers 2. What a shitty movie. Seriously that movie waas popular? Wow. Anyhow I'm looking forward to July. Well except the part where i turn 41. Anyhow have a great night. See ya next month!

Crazy old John Wayne fan

Man i am in need of another day off. What a horrible day today. I think i blocked most of it out. I will tell you about the crazy old man who started my day. Apparently the amc channel ws playing a marathon of John Wayne movies. He called in to complain because
a) there were young actors narrarating a john wayne special. He was pissed off because the young narrators never met John Wayne. Ok.
b)amc ran an ad stating they had never played these films before. Apparently as the crazy old bastard let me know they had. He went on to call amc a bunch of liars. He hates liars.

He kept calling me partner which pissed me off.He was pissed off that i had to verrify his account information. He gave me half his affress stopped and bitched about the fcc--the fcc is full of crap! When i asked him for the other half of his address he said "i thou8gh i was the one who was hard of hearing!" Then he said to me "you must be new." Sure if starting a decade ago means I'm new than so be it. I am so not gonna miss the calls from Las Vegas and New Orleans. Tomorrow is the last day for them. Thank God.

Same ol Monday shift

Yup another monday of ignorant assholes who have nothing better than to yell and tell me to go to hell. Just another day at the office.

Saturday shenanigans

Its Sunday and the weekend has been pretty good so far. Work was actually half descent yesterday. I recieved some awesome news. Those new markets we got a couple of weeks ago? Turns out they were temporary! They are gone July 1st! That makes me happier than a bum on a baloney sandwich. The firat half of the shift was pretty dead so i got to talk movies with the girls i sit next to on the weekend.

So at 1 point i had to get a supervisor at one point. I called over and got a supervisor named Amy. She asked me if it was a guy by the name of Donald Mitchell. It wasnt. I guess she had talked to the same guy on 3 different occasions that morning and he was a real a hole. I think she jynxed me. Cause who should i get a call from an hour later? Yup Donald Mitchell. Guess what? He was an a hole. So he immediately asked for a manager with higher status then our managers. I can only connect him to my immediate supervisors. He wants an appology from all the reps who had wronged him that day. So i tell him i will get a supervisor. Here's our conversation

Douchebag: "ok call over and if you get a supervisor named Amy i want you to hang up and try again."

Its Saturday,there's only a couple of supervisors on and its been taking forrever to get a supervisor because of this.

Me: "sorry sir if i call over there and get Amy then thats who you will be speaking with. Its busy and I'm not hanging up on anybody."

Db: " You don't listen to good do you? I won't speak with Amy. You get someone else if she answers."

Me: "Sorry sir i am listening to you. I'm also advising i'm not hanging up if Amy answers the phone."

Db: "You arent fucking hearing me. You and your fucking company."

Me: "sir please tone down the language or i will be forced to end this call."

Db: " Don't you dare tell me how to speak. If I want to swear i will. I'm the customer."

I don't remember the phrase the customer always gets to swear at people. Anyhow i finally put him on hold and wait for a supervisor. While i have him on hold i read through the 10 new pages of notes on this guy. Apparently he came into one of our stores swearing. He also threw some equipment across the store. Turns out he had to be escorted off the premises by 2 people. I get to the supervisor and no it wasnt Amy. We also noticed that an appointment the guy had for that day had been cancelled because he was violent. So lets get this straight. He wanted an appology from everyone who wronged him. Meanwhile he was swearing and throwing heavy equipment at people. Long story short we didnt want his business anymore and by the end of the shift his service was cancelled. Yup that made me smile to!

So here we are on Sunday morning. Diana is watching cartoons. I'm blogging and working on show stuff. Probably going to watch True Blood tonight with our friend Amy--no relation to the supervisor at work. Talk to you all later.

Butterflies are cool

Friday i finally got to go on one of Diana's class trips. I've been wanting to volunteer for awhile now. Her class went to the Butterfly conservatory in Niagara Falls. It was massively cool. Thousands of butterflies flying everywhere. One landed on my back and stayed there the whole time i was there. This wasnt easy as i did a lot of running. Why was i running? Well i got put in charge of 3 kids, Diana and 2 other girls. The 2 other girls kept running away. Man they were fast. Sure got a work out in. Diana was good as gold and followed all the rules. You werent allowed to touch the butterflies because it could harm them and mess up their flying. We took some pictures and had a great time.

Afterwards i took Diana to Macdonalds for ice cream. We also stopped at liquidation world. They were running a sale for 2 hours. They sold all their dvd's for a buck. By the time i got there all the dvd's were picked through. I bough Diana Space Chimps and picked up Borat as well. Did i mention they were only a dollar each? I also got Diana a Toy Story dinner plate an a unicorn stuffed animal.

Anyhow all good things come to an ens and soon i was going to sleep to get some rest for work. But thats another story for the riverbank.

Stewart family day of fun in Rochester

Yesterday we finally made a trip out to Rochester. I haven't been back since i got the passport a few months ago. We headed out after Diana was finnished school. After a quick stop at the comic store we were on our way. Well we tried to be on our way. Once we hit Niagara Falls New York it was non stop construction. We had to take a detour and this put us behind schedule.
Anyhow we arrived in Rochester. We stopped off at a comic book store that we get to maybe once a year and for some reason the owner always remembers us. Bought a couple of comics and then went to Marks pizzeria to get a slice. They make the best pizza in the world as far as I'm concerneds. Then went to the home of Kath's dad. We met his new lady "friend." She seemed nice. Weird trip. We never saw Su or her family. Maybe next time.

Anyhow the highlight of the day. We decided to take Diana to take Toy Story 3. Her first movie in a theater. She's seen plenty of movies at the drive in. We figured she was old enough to take. She was so good. Not a peep from her the whole time. We even decided to catch the 3d version of the movie. It was our first 3d movie. I gotta tell you the whole experience was awesome. I was so proud of my kid. Great movie to. Didnt expect to cry as much as i did.

Afterwards we went to visit our friend Rose. We almost got to go to a free Eddie Money show but it was getting late so we bailed on that. We left for home shortly after that. Great day.

Why isnt it July 21'st yet?

Hooray! Kath ordered us 2 tickets to see Barney Bentall. We havent been to a concert in almost 2 years which is strange for me. Anyhow Barney is actually doing an acoustic show at a winery in Niagara on the Lake, so it won't be much of a drive. I can't wait. It'll be my 16th time since 1990 seeing him live and this'll be Kath's 5th time. It will rock. Its actually goingto be on July 21st--5 days before my birthday.

Happy fathers day

Hey gang. Fathers day was pretty cool yesterday. Diana made me a couple of crafts in school. She made a book mark that had some seeds and things glued to it. Very creative. I also got a sheet of paper with a picture she drew of us and a questionnaire about me. Apparently Diana thinks i am 10 feet tall and can lift a 1000 pounds. Maybe the kid thinks I'm Superman. It was really nice. I think i will be putting it upstairs on the wall of my comic book room. We went to McDonalds after that and had some ice cream cones. Later on Rob came over and we watched a few episodes of Stargate universe. This was followed by another exciting edition of Get your Geek on. It was a pretty sweet day. All good things come to an end though and today i was back at work. I'm not gonna go there though. Have a great night everyone.

creepy porn bastard

Its official. There is a permanent full moon in the United States on Saturdays. The customers are twice as evil on that day. One lady had a beef with the technical department. I am not in the technical department so i tried too get her there. I was trying to be understanding and nice but then she told me to shut my mouth, A couple of times. I told her if this continued i would end the call. She told me to go ahead and do that and she would have my job. Well seeing as how i hadnt actually gone into her account yet and there was no proof of me talking to her--oops my finger accidently hit the release button.

Another call i was creeped out by. A guy complained cause one of the 3 pornos he ordered didnt play. Sp to get rid of him i applied a credit-no questions asked. Then he got creepy. Here's what he asked me.

"so why are the adult movies edited the way they are? Cause right at the end youre expecting something good to happen and then its cut. I don't wanna get graphic but they cut the best part. I'd really like to see an actuall final scene."

geez dude i dont know, I'm not the porn police. Obviously it doesnt bother you to much. You order like 10 a month. I could tell he really wanted to talk about money shots and what not so i rushed him through the end of the call.

An F'ed up day off

Yesterday i had a day off with Kath and Diana. I hate to say it but it started out really f'ed up. Kath had woken up with a knee that had somehow popped out of joint. It happenned to her once a couple years ago and it somehow fixed itself when she was walking around. She called in sick to work because she could barely walk. So i walked Diana to work and when i got home my neighbour Nancy sees me and asks do you have any issues with me? I guess she had yelled hello out her window at me when i was taking the kid to school but i hadnt heard her. I was thinking about Kaths knee at the time. Anyhow i told Nancy i didnt have a problem with her and assurred her she was the coolest neighbour i ever had. After a few hours Kath decided that we should go get groceries and maybe holding onto a cart and walking would pop her knee back in place.
We picked up a tensor bandage and within half an hour Kath was ok again. She could walk--it was a miricle!

So we brought the groceries home and then i noticed a hissing sound. What the hell? I look in the cupboard and one of our bottles of pop had sprung a nasty leak. Pop everywhere. Somehow i salvaged a whole glass of pop out of it.

The rest of the day went smoothly. Got some tv in and planned a trip to Rocjester next week. Hoping to take yammy to see toy story 3 in the theater while we're there. Anyhow have a good night folks.

Looking back on the summer of fun

Just got back from walking yammy to school and started thinking back to the summer of 2001. Why that year you may ask? Because that was Jay and Kath's summer of fun! Thats what we called it anyhow. That was the summer after we got married,we finally made it to our first fan expo and we went to 4 awesome concerts. It kicked off with a free concert by Sass Jordan and Colin James in Niagara Falls. Did i mention it was free to see 2 of my favorite singers? It was awesome.

In July we saw Colin Hay of Men at work play a small club in Rochester. That to was awesome. Some of the people outside were goofy. I remember 1 conversation of 2 fans,one of the guys had a porn mustache I remember him saying

"i used to smoke up and listen to men at work and now i sit down with a glass of wine to listen to Colin Hay."
Of course Kath and i ran with that joke and we changed it to stuff like

"yeah i used to do crystal meth when i listened to Who Can it Be Now and now when i listen to his solo stuff i drink pop."

I should also mention that at the time Kath was still waiting for her papers so she could legally live in Canada and work there as well. So we had to sneak into The United States as the government didnt want you travelling betwen the 2 countries while you waited for your papers. So i had to take my ring off at the border and pretend we werent married and that sort of thing. We never got pulled into the Border office or anything like that.

Anyhow it was a great Colin Hay show and somewhere there's a photo of Kath and I with Colin Hay. We look good and he looks insane. Oh yeah in the audience we were sitting behind the band Great Big Sea. They had gone to see him because at the time they had recently covered one of his songs.

Next up for the Stewarts was a Huey Lewis and The News concert out in the boonies. We drove an hour outside of Rochester to see them. They were actually promoting a new cd. Yup a new cd. At that time ot had been 10 years since a new studio cd. Its actually been 9 years since he had a new studio cd. Regardless it was an awesome show.

The final show of the summer took me to Darien Lake for the first time. It was a great double bill. The Wallflowers opening for John Mellencamp. We had missed the wallflowers in 2000 due to back injuries to Kath. So it was good to finally see them. I'm a huge Mellencamp fan so was happy Kath finally see him live.

I should also mention that at the time i was working a shitty midnight shift at the donut Diner. The owner was a workaholic and i actually had to pretty much beg the dude to get the Mellencamp show off. I was working 6 shifts a week. It was pretty gruelling. Everyone else had gotten weeks at a time off from work. I asked for 4 days throughout the summer. I had even asked for Mellencamp off at least a month in advance and the bastard still scheduled me. I remember having to get up on my day off and going to the Diner to talk to him about it. I went so far as to even mention that Mellencamp had won a grammy. Long story short i got the day off and shortly later i quit.

Anyhow i like looking back on that summer. Its been 2 years since I've been to a concert of any kind. That may be changing soon. Details to come. Have a great day everybody!

Oh what a glorious day at work. I am loving the new markets--not. Lets check out the highlights of my day

----spoke with a mrs Dick. Her name suited her cause she was one.
---spoke with some weird spanish guy who kept calling me puppy and baby whilst swearing at me
---spoke with a lady who could have been a female version of the joker. She yelled and cackled for the whole call. Oh and apparently her home was overrun with bed bugs.
---There was like a huge ammount of flies buzzing around the call centre so that was nice.
---told a guy if he got basic cable service he would get chan 2-22 to which he repled
"so channel 2,channel 3,channel 4,channel 5.."
"yeah and every channel up to channel 22" i replied
".....channel 6,channel 7 channel 8,,,"
yes he said every individual channel until he said channel 22. Really?


there were a lot or rude females today too. I think it was the most times in a day i ever utterred the phrase "what a fucking bitch."

Anyhow glad its over. Kath and i are both off tomorrow so looking forward to that. Gonna work on some show stuff. Should be fun. Until next time,have a great night.

Mondays you never cease to suck

Well today started out lousy. Tossed and turned all night.Kept waking up. Diana actually woke up at 6:am and got dressed for school. She was only 6 hours early.

So i woke up and hauled ass to work. At 10:00 we get an email stating we were gonna start taking calls from 3 new markets--starting at 11. Gee thanks for the heads up. That hour to prepare was awesome. Let me tell you about the calls from the new markets. They are just as rude and ignorant. i had one lady call us all a bunch of whores because she forgot to call to cancel hbo after her free year of service ended. It dragged on all day and never let up. To put it simply it sucked.

Just sitting here now listening to some tunes,figuring out some stuff for the show and waiting for the family to get home.
Got a newletter from our complex. They are going to fix the hole in the fence which means i will have to walk way out of my way to get home. I'm super excited for that. Wish my week was over already. Oh well. Hoping the next 2 days go by super fast so i can get to my next day off. Anyhow i'll be back tomorrow to complain some more. Until then have a great evening.

A team rules!

its Sunday today and had a pretty descent day. We actually went to see the A Team movie. If you would have asked me a year ago if i had any interest in seeing this film i would have said "no way". I wasn't a fan of the old 80's series. Then we saw a trailer a few months ago and i completely changed my mind. I'm glad i did. What a fun movie. Hands down my favorite movie of the summer so far, The action was great and it was cool seeing the origin of the team. We both loved it.

Finnished the night off with another exciting edition of Get Your Geek On. Diana was very good during it. Kudos to the kid. Thats about it for now. Gonna grab some burgers and catch some tv with KJ. Talk to you all later.

Old people are awesome

Lets keep it short today. My morning was great. All the customers were pretty cool. After lunch i entered bizarro world and everyone was a mean asshole. I even got told to fuck off by a lady who must have been 80. No joke. Old people are funny! I'm home relaxing now. I lost 2 pounds this week. Thats 5 in 2 weeks. Seven more to go until i get to last summers weight. Ok gang I'm outta here. Talk to u soon.

Stupid meeting

Man i hate the annual meeting of our complex to go over the budget. Every year its held at the ramada hotel and every year i leave it feeling pissed off. It always runs longer than it should and there's always 1 or 2 individuals who won't shut the hell up. So yesterday i hapilly attended this years meeting. I really wasnt in the mood. I had just worked almost 11 hours and now i had to immediately go to the meeting. Sure enough it totally sucked ass. First of all hooray our rent is going up agai. To quote sawyer "son of a bitch!" The same people complained about everything at the complex and sure enough it was a damn 2 hour meeting. My stupid neighbour "the batman" confronted me and wants me to clean my eavestrough becaus apparently water is leaking all over his patio, This is the same a hole who claims he saw possums and rats and zebras in our back yard. Screw you pal. I'm not breaking my nexk trying to clean eaves troughs on my own. So yeah wasnt impressd by the meeting and could care less if i ever go to another.

iron girl and the stewarts fun day

I'm in a bad mood so i will talk about our awesome day yesterday. I'm hoping this will cheer me up. Lets hope.

So yesterday morning Kath and Diana and my nephew Russell and i packed into the van and went to Toronto. Why you may ask? It was fan appreciation day held by toronto comicon. It was pretty cool. We got free passes from our comic book store and i invited Russell along because i knew he had a good time at fan expo last year. He even made me proud. He bought the whole Blackest Night series! I found a lot of great deals as well. I actually bout some books that helped me complete 2 series. Also got Diana a great deal as well. One of the vendors had a gi normous basket of toys--2 toys for 5 dollars total! Diana picked 2 sets of action figurew. There were 3 figures in each pack. She got Superman and Supergirl and wonder girl and various teen titans. Speaking of Diana. check out the picture i included. She dressed as Iron girl! Man i love my kid.

We also got to meet a writer by the name of Greg Rucka who has written everything from Superman to Wonder woman to wolverine. Kath had him sign a couple of books. We also gave some get your geek on flyers to some independent artists who we will try and get on our show.
What an awesome day capped off by our show. Too bad the good mood had to end when i went back to work today. Oh well such is lifei guess.

Spider cat

Spider cat, spider cat does whatever a spider cat can. Last night Merlin jumped up in the air and snagged a fly in mid air. Then he ate it. It was pretty cool. Fast moves for such a big cat.

Sick world we live in

Hey welcome to June. Sorry to start the month off on a down note but i am feeling angry. Yesterday there was an article in the paper about some idiots that had broken into Happy Rolphs petting zoo and bird sanctuary. Apparently these individuals were a bunch of sick fucks. They killed some of the animals,injured a few others and stole a baby goat. I just about cried when i read the article. We've been going there for years and walking around looking at the animals. Its a really nice place that i like visiting with my wife and daughter.

y seriously hope the cops find the idiots that did this and beat the living shit out of them. I hope they get thrown in a prison and asked to bend over in the shower for the soap by a 400 pound inmate. I cant begin to understand why these assholes did what they did but i hope they are castrated. Whats wrong with some people? ANyhow thats it for now.
