I wasnt even suppossed to be there today,

hi just got back from work. I didnt have to work today due to working for an american company and it being Memorial day. But i volunteerd so i wouldnt lose any hours. Big mistake.
When i arrived at work i had to sit at a desk i dont normally sit at.Then i somehow locked myself out of our sustem. i had to woek the first half hour of my shift with mo way to bring up accounts. That sucked. So i finally get into the sustem and I've locked myself out of the virginia data base. This is not good as this is where most of my calls come from. So a manager had to give me her password to use. It wasnt resolved by the end of the day so i get to do this all over again tomorrow morning. Hooray for me!
Oh and did i mention it was beyond busy? We were massively under staffed because we werent expected to be busy. Well that failed. It was all complaining senior citizens again. One old guy was mad that we blocked his pay per view service due to his enormous bill. Some of the titles he ordered? "Real amateurs sucking big brothers,' "9 girl poon party" and "cougar strike."
I literally ran for the door when my shift was up.

We visited my friend Mike after work.He's having a garage sale so he gave me first crack at his comics. I picked up some Green Arrow comics for Nicole. Almost the complete Kevin Smith run!
Well gonna go eat and watch some tv shows. Happy memorial day to my American family and friends. Have a good night

Happy birthday kstew

Happy birthday to my beautiful wife Kath. I love her a lot. Thank you God for making her. We had a great day together. Last night we went and saw the movie Macgrubber. It was funny. Today we visited Pulp comics and dropped off a business card for the show. The owner has listened to Get Your Geek on and says he liked it. That made us feel good. Woke up early today to help with the clean up here at the complex. It was a long day. It was pretty fun though. Fun should be over at 8 in the morning when my next shift starts, Yeeha! If i can make it through the week i will be going to a small comic book convention next weekend with Kath and Diana and my nephew Russell. Fingers crossed i can make it through the week. see ya lost and 24

So watched 2 great series finales this week-- Lost and 24. Both great shows that I'm gonna miss.

24 ended with Jack Bauer having to leave the country. The U s and Russian governments were after him due to all the murders he comitted this season. I think he should come to Canada and work where i work. He wouldnt take any shit from customers. Anyhow there's a 24 movie in the works so we havent seen the end of Bauer.

Lost also ended this week. Kath and i cried like babies through the whole thing. All season there had been an alternate timeline where the plane didnt crash and everyone had different lives. Turns out this sideways world was kind of like purgatory and was a place where all the losties would meet up once everyone had died and move on to the afterlife. It was very moving and a great way to bring back past cast members and give the show a great send off. I couldnt stop thinking about the finale for days after it ended.

So Kath and i lost 2 great shows. Not a whole lot of good action dramas left on the air. Oh well at least we have Smallville for one more year.

Happy to be home

Wow work sucked balls today. Wow i can't believe i sound surprised. Lots of stupid complainys today. My favorite was the old man that reemed me out for 5 minutes because i had the gall to say his address ended in avenue instead of street.

I got sent home early today because it was so dead in the afternoon. Normally that would upset me as it means i lose money but i had just gotten off of a long call with a lady who continued to give me a hard time even after recieving a 60.00 credit. Good times indeed.

Last night was pretty cool. Rob and Nickle came over to watch tv.
Diet is going well so far. Kath is kicking ass at her diet.
I'm off for 2 days now so I'm pretty happy about that.
I think i feel the need to lay on the couch now.
I'll write again tomorrow.

Diet boy is back

Today i start a new diet. I tried Atkins last year and had good success but this time trying something a bit different. Kath got on a weight watchers program at work so I'm going to try and support her and do the same kind of diet. I had success on weight watchers before so i don't think it'll be too bad. Just gonna cut out all the junk i've been eating. I can still drink diet pop so that rocks! Its going to be an adventure and i hope to lose about 20 pounds. I'm proud of Kath as well for giving it a shot. I have a feeling we're both going to do well. Yay weight watchers!

Back to the drive in

We had an excellent weekend. It all began Saturdat night after work. We decided we would go to the drive in. We hadn't been yet this year. First of all the pairings have been horrible. None of the movies they were putting together made any sense. Also Diana is at the age where she understands a lot now so we have to be choosy when we take her. Anyhow a good double feature finally happenned. Shrek 4 and Iron Man 2--with added 3rd bonus feature She's out of my league. It was a fun time. We brought pizza and pop corn. Diana loved Shrek and couldnt care less about Iron Man although she loves the character. She passed out during SHe's out of my league but its ok she was in pyjamas. We had a bit of an issue,after Shrek our van battery died. ts ok the fine folks at the drive in got it working.I love going to the drive in and i hope i get another chance to go this year. Its a fun place. I have to admit Shrek was pretty good. Thats about all i have to say about the drive in today. So rock on!

Poor sick Diana

My poor baby girl. I just went up to check on her before i went to sleep. I smelled something weird so i turned on her light. Poor kid had puked everywhere--and slept through it somehow. I have no idea why that didnt wake her up. I woke her up and she seemed really surprised by it. So i quickly gave her a bath and threw her bedding and 4 of her stuffed animals in the wash. Yeah she's not going to school tomorrow. Luckily i don't have to work so i can hang out with her. Even if she doesnt feel sick i am keeping her home. I'm keeping her up for a little bit to make sure she doesnt have to do it again. I feel so bad for her but what a tough little kid to vomit and just go back to sleep--without calling out for Kath or i.

Just another day at the office

Just looking at my notes from the day and i wrote down 2 words--deposit whore. Trying to remember what that was about. All the calls blend together after awhile. I'll have to come back to deposit whore

My next note says crazy porn lady. Oh yeah i remember her. She called in to dispute a porn that was ordered. I didnt feel like arguing so i credited without even looking at the charge and even helped her put a block on the account so it couldnt be done again. You'd figure that would be good enough right? Wrong. She wanted to know what time it was ordered. Unfortunately we dont have that just the day it was ordered on. We also didnt have an exact title for her. It came up as adult ten. She was getting mad at me for not having a title. I would have hapilly made up a title. I should have said edward penis hands or something. So she demanded a supervisor because she felt i hadnt done enough for her. May i remind that i credited and blocked. Sorry that was nothing apparently.

Son of a bitch still trying to remember deposit whore. Next.

oh yeah this prick called in about his mothers account. He wasnt authorized on account so i had to speak to his mother. Unfortunately she was senile and didnt know what she was talking about. Plus i needed her to veriffy the 4 digit code on the account. He said "why don't you give her the code and she can repeat it back to you." Um because it doesnt work that way. So he goes into a tirade about how his mother doesnt know anything and if i ask her questions she wont uncderstand. Then this douche of a human being goes on to do an imitation of his mother in a mentally challenged voice. I seriously hope a truck comes a long and hits him. I don't want him to die oer anything just cripled. What a stupid asshole for talking about his mother that way. I wanted to hang up on that ass hole so bad.

I just remembered who deposit whore was. So this bitch calls in and her service has been shut off because she hasnt paid the bill in like a million months. When the account was closed her original deposit was applied to the account to lower the final balance. SHe was pissed this happenned because she was going to get service re connected someday and didnt want to pay another deposit. The account was closed what were we suppossed to do with her stupid deposit? So then she demands a supervisor, I ask why and she states because i have offended her. I just want to say that i wasnt being sarcastic or anything and i was actually being quite nice to her. I ask what i did to to offend her and she says none of my business. Its all i could do to not scream out the c word. So i got her to a supervisor and they pretty much told her what i did word for word. Deposit whore.

Diana's birthday wish

Almost forgot to mention what Diana's birthday wish. It almost gave daddy a heart attack. She blew out the candles on her cake and said she wanted a baby. She didnt want mommy and daddy to have a baby,she wanted a real one, Yup. She said the wish out loud so it probably won't come true. Good times.

Happy birthday Diana

Yesterday was Diana's birthday. She turned 5. Man i can't believe it. Time flies. I don't get how my baby girl is 5. She told me not to worry,she will still watch super hero cartoons with me now that she is 5.
Yesterday was her first birthday party with other kids. She invited all the girls from her class. We had the party at the super store where there is a party room with a working kitchen. It was so cool. The kids got to make their own pizzas and ice their own cup cakes to. It was pretty awesome. I was really impressed. I will totally recommend that place to all my friends. It was really a great time.

We also had family over to the house for dinner and cake. My sister and mom came and so did Kath's sister and dad. We hadnt seen Our american relatives since last year because of the whole passport deal. Our friends Rose and Rob also came. It was cool as well.

Extended Show

Last nights show was awesome and it really left me in a great mood at the end of the night. We had our friend Ken on the show to talk about cosplay. He was a great guest,had a lot to say,reviewed some comics with us and just rocked. If that wasnt enough a guy by the name of Mike called in--he does another geek podcast called this week in geek. He was pretty cool and stayed on the phome for the rest of the show. So 9:o clock came and we still had a few things to talk about. Rob decide we should keep going and we kept talking for another 45 minutes. it was massively cool. Man i love doing the show. It makes me really happy. Rob already put a req through for press passes for fan expo in August. I am so excited.

R.i.p. Not Barney

The other day we got a knock on the door. Turns out it was Nancy my neighbour. She asked if we had a cat and then gave us some litter and food. Iguess her cat had recently passed away. Her cat was really cool. He would come to the back window and hesh would bat the window with his paw and the other cat would do the same. The fascinating thing to me is that the cat looked like a cat we used to have who passed away a few years ago. Barney was his name. He was a really nice friendly cat who i had for 14 years. He passed when Diana was 2 i think. Diana was convinced that it was Barney the cat that was coming to visit Hesh at the window. She was convinced I was letting Barney live outside.
Nancy's cat was cool. He would get on the top of our fence and leap onto her balcony. Anyhow i don't know why but i teared up a bit. I know what its like to lose a pet and i felt bad for her. I started thinking about Barney to. I started thinking back to when Diana was a baby and she would lay on my chest with Barney and watch Stargate with me. I think we're gonna get her a sympathy card. We're not sure what the cats name was. We thought it was Pickles but it turns out Pickles is another cat in the complex.

Sometimes old people suck

So i was getting yelled at by some 150 year old man today. He asks me my name and then says
"in my day we used to have a poem, Jason hason bring the pason." Really You had that as a saying? Gee why don't you say that anymore. Maybe cause its gayson?

Thank God my stupid day is over.

Headache city

So got home from work not to long ago. What a day filled with some of the stupidest things I've ever heard as well as conspiracy theories and just a bunch of a-holes in general.

So i actually got yelled at for 10 minutes becasue i couldnt tell a guy what time it was in England. Really? He was pissed i didnt have that info available at my finger tips. And that's in my job description how? I'm gonna call my gas company tomorrow and ask when the new Tom Petty cd is coming out. If they don't know i think i will freak out.

Oh yeah a lady called disputing some porn. No one in her house would admit to ordering it. Hmm funny that on the day she left her sons alone for a whole day is when the movies were ordered. Next.


there was the dick that kept screaming in my ear that he wanted me to stop reading from a script. I seriously felt like screaming back "dude i wish i had a script." next

My personal favorite call of the day--a lady who wouldnt let me speak for 20 minutes. Kept repeating to me over and over that she wasnt trying to be rude. Guess what lady? You failed. You were very rude. She was pissed the bill went up a couple of dollars. She asked me: "Who's going to pay you if i die? You're not getting my life insurance." ok. Then she kept repeating "those damn rich people are making us poor people pay." Not sure what she meant there. oh and this gem :"the last rep i spoke to tried to convince me i was crazy. She pretended my phone was clicking." Yup thats what we do convince customers they are out of their mind. They don't need help with that.

I'm tired now. They drained me of all my energy. I'm gonna lay down on the couch and watch some Wiseguy reruns and eat pie. I can't wait to do it all again tomorrow.

What a geektastic Sunday!

So yesterday Kath and i were able to catch an iron man 2 matinee. In one word- Amazing. What a fantastic film. It was just as good as the first. Loved it. I think i need to see it again stat. One of the best super hero films ever.

Following that we went to a new comic book store called pulp comics. What a cool shop. We got to chatting up the owners and Rob made a couple of contacts for us. THe owners will probably come on Get your geek on and theres talk of recording a live remote from the store. Rob may have convinced them to play the train rek station in their store full time as well. Things are looking up. So i was in an awesome mood as we left the store.

The day wasnt over yet, We had burger king for dinner. Gor some new Iron man toys there. Then we got to record our show at 7. We did a phone interview with a lady who makes geek soap. Soap with batman logos and shaped like video game cartridges and stuff like that. She was really nice and said she would send us some samples. we had a few technical difficulties hearing her but Rob being the Macgyver he is was able to re wire the system so we could hear her.

Unfortunaely my good mood came to an end as the day ended and i had to prepare for a day of hell at work Such is life i suppose.

The 40 year old nerd strikes again

Its Friday. My second day off in a row. Kath has had to work early so I've been walking Diana to and from school. I really have to get in shape. I'm probably gonna start dieting again after Diana's birthday next week. Thats where i started last year and then had success. So hopefully i can do it again . Fingers crossed.

I just have to get through tomorrows shift and then i get to See Iron Man 2. I can't wait. We also may check out a new comic book store in the falls. Rumour has it that you can also order food in there and theres an area set up to watch super hero cartoons on a big screen. Geek heaven!

Gonna go and clean up now. Going with Kath and Nickle to grocery shop in the states tonight and get a mothers day present for my mom. I love having my passport. We'll also probably check out burger king out to because they have iron man 2 toys. Its awesome being a 40 year old nerd.

Tuesday

I booked a vacation day today in case i was partied out the night before. I'm glad i did. We took Diana to see a play at her school and she had a really great time. I didnt do much of anything else today. I cleaned a litter box. Cleaning cat poop up is actually more fun then getting yelled at by customers over the phone. I could probably do that for a living with a big smile on my face compared to what i do now.

I heard from my friend Andrea last night. Hoping to catch iron man 2 this weekend. Right now its kind of the only thing getting me through the week. Havent seen Andrea in awhile so it should be cool. I have been counting the days to Iron man 2 since Christmas i think.

So glad i had a quiet day at home with my daughter. Really needed it after yesterdays wonderful shift at work. Can't wait for Kath to get home to watch me some lost and eat me some buffalo wing dip. Have a great night everyone.
