Trick Or Treat

Today during the afternoon ,Kath and i went to Diana's school for their halloween parade. All the kids and teachers get dressed up in their costumes and walk around the neighborhood. This year we were told it would be ok if parents came to. Diana was dressed like a little devil. There were lots of ninjas and skeletons and clone troopers. The parade actually went past our neighborhood as well. It was really cool.

Trick or treating turned out pretty cool as well. Nickle came with Diana and I while Kath handed out candy. We actually ventured out of the complex this year and did a couple of extra streets. I threw on a green lantern t shirt and ring and Nickle painted a mask on me. The mask looked cool. We came home after an hour. Diana got so much candy and 12 bags of chips.

Not looking forward to tomorrow. Its the first day of my new shift. Although i will be home at a descent hour and i will be on a great sleep schedule,i'm not looking forward to being busy all the time. That could suck. On the plus side i am looking working with people like Debbie and Kristen and people i didn't get to see working the midnight shift. Here's hoping November doesnt suck.

No show again

I shouldn't be blogging right now because i am beyond angry. We couldn't do a live show this week because Kath and rob had other stuff to do. We went ahead and recorded a show last night. I should have known better.No im not Richard Marx. Every time in the past we have recorded a show something screwed up that prevented the show from playing. Not sure why i convinced myself this time that wasn't going to happen. I'm sitting here in front of my computer at 8;30 and have yet to hear any of this weeks show. It should have started playing half an hour ago.


In the past when this has happened the recorded show that didn't play would just go up on our web site. That's great and everything but i want something to play in our show time slot. There was one week where we didn't record anything and i was assured an older episode would play. Didn't happen. So lesson learned if we can't do a live show i will expect our 8-10 time slot to just be dead air. I will not put myself through this again.

Staking out the neighborhood.

Wow didn't realize my last post was post number 700. Time flies when you're complaining. Diana and i went out for a walk and scoped out where we're going to trick or treat tomorrow. We are actually going to venture a little bit out of the complex this year and maybe do an extra street or 2. I'm excited. Kath and i both have the day off. We're going to visit Diana at school also for her halloween party. Looking forward to it.

Lazy days rule

Had a real cool Saturday off with Diana. We took a walk,watched tv and did a few chores. Kath came home at 9;30 and we recorded a new get your geek on to play Sunday night. I like lazy days. It avoids having to listen to customers tell me to go fuck myself. Good times

blah blah

Another call i took yesterday i want to briefly mention. Another angry gentleman called in yesterday. Big surprise huh? I don't remember a lot about the call. I remember he wasn't a big help though. I think his internet was down. I asked if he was getting an error message, I swear to God his reply was

"yes i have an error message that says blah blah blah blah blah blah."

really? Does it really say that? hmm let me look up blah, blah , blah etc in your phones user guide. And he said it so fast to. He expected me to be able to figure out his issue by saying blah blah blah. I can't understand why i dislike my job so much.

No time for love doctor jones

Believe it or not i had another exciting/annoying/funny call at work. A very angry asian fellow called in and his issue was that one of his friends was getting an error message when he tried to call him. His friend had a different phone carrier and everybody else in the world could get through. So i suggested that maybe the issue was on his friends side and they should contact their phone carrier. This did not sit well with the angry asian. So i tried to troubleshoot in other ways, However the guy refused to answer any of my questions and proceeded to yell at me. He asked me why i was asking questions and i replied it was my job to ask questions to find out what the problem was. So eventually here's what short round had to say to me. Pure genius i might add.

Awesome asian angry man: "fuck you!"--see i told you it was genius

Me not taking his shit : "sir if you continue to swear i will end this call."

Jackie Chan: "fuck you,fuck you,fuck you,fuck you,fuck you(he may have said it 10 or 12 times i lost count), Do you understand that?"

me feeling a little like Clint Eastwood: i do understand and you understand you've been warned about the swearing. Have a great day."

and i ended the call. Fuck me? Fuck him.

Just another day at the office

Another awesome day was had at work. Yesterday there was an outtage in Toronto that took cell phone service out for maybe 3 hours. I couldn't believe how angry the customers were. They were seriously treating me like i had anally raped their grandmothers while pouring sugar into their gas tanks. Thank you Kevin Smith for that quote. They seriously thought we caused a problem on purpose. I'm sure the president of the company woke up and thought "hmmm, you know what would be cool? We should disrupt service so all our customers call in pissed off. Wouldn't that be delightful?" Customers are great. I get where they are coming from but to be that over the top angry? Ridiculous.

So i actually had a customer call in today and cancel their account because their account number ended with the numbers 666. Did they think satan was going to visit them because of a demonic cell phone account number? Yeah your cell phone was created in hell. A red creature with horns and a tail is going to show up because of your account number. Some people. Sorry pal if its hell on earth you want then might i suggest the new Twilight movie.

Sunday --ugh

Wow not gonna sugar coat it. Sunday sucked balls. I couldn't wake up to save my life. I stumbled out of bed around noon and went downstairs only to fall asleep another 3 times before 3. Seriously what the hell? Finally dragged my ass off the couch around 3;30. I took Diana for a walk to try and get some air and wake up. It did the trick.

Kath got home around 5:30. We were gonna have some dinner and watch some tv and get ready for the show. A friend of Kath's from work was coming over to talk about the new Batman game. If anything i was over prepared for the show. It was gonna be good. Shortly before 7 Rob called to say his van broke down on the highway. So no show tonight. Thats ok we had some shows we could watch. Waited all week to watch the walking dead and rescue me. However they recorded with tiling and no sound. Good times.

Going to bed soon. I 'm starting my last week of working the midnight shift. I can't wait for it to be next weekend already. Oh well

John Mclane makes it all better

Weekend is great. Already mentioned our Green Lantern adventure. Was weird coming out of the theater and it wasnt even noon yet. After the movie Kath went to work and Diana and i came home. We cleaned up a bit and Diana did a painting craft. We went out for our regular Saturday walk and just chilled out. Did some grilling,cleaned the studio and hung out with Merlin the cat who refuses to come up stairs now.

It's almost 1 in the morning and i'm dead tired. Why arent i in bed? Live free or die hard is on tv and i think its the unedited version. Yup the version where john mcclane says yippee ki ay mother fucker. Life is good.

Yet more shitty call centre news

So i got some bad news the other day. A day after i get my excellent shift bid news i found out my new cool manager who got me my awesome new shift has been transferred over to the hellish cble company i used to work at. She was my manager for a total of 3 weeks and she was probably the coolest manager i ever had. I feel bad for her having to go to the cable company though. I hope she doesnt have to deal with a million porn disputes. There's something i don't wish on my worst enemy. Or maybe i do. I'm so confused.

Happy birthday Hollie

A very happy birthday to our good friend Hollie. Hollie and Kath have been friends since they were teenagers. I met Hollie 12 years ago today. Jath and i had been dating for 2 months at the time and we went to The states to Hollies birthday party where we met. It was also the first night that Kath and i got pukked into U S customs. We still joke about it to this day. The guard asked us where we were going and we told him a birthday party. He actually asked us who was having the party. Kath almost asked--why are you going to be there. Good times.

Wow its been a pretty cool Saturday so far. We went to the Niagara square at 9;20 in the morning to see a free screening of Green Lantern. Yeah i realize it was a weird time to see a movie, A kids charity was showing some movies for free this morning. All the snacks, pop and candy were 2 dollars a piece and the money was going to charity. Diana came with us and it was her first non animated film in a movie theater. She seemed to like all the parts that showed Green Lantern but didn't care for the talking parts. Kath actually made it through the whole movie with out falling asleep. I forgot a lot of the jokes and stuff from the first time we saw it in June. I still really liked it a lot and still can't understand why it did so badly at the box office. Fingers crossed there will still be a Green Lantern 2. I can't believe its only 1 in the afternoon and i had popcorn for breakfast. Yay Saturdays

A few less problems for Jay

ok i feel like things are going my way for the time being. I got my shift bid request and it looks like i will still get weekends off. I can still do the show. I will work monday to friday 1:30 TO 10:00. Its a pretty good time frame. I will still get home fairly early to watch rv with Kath and i can get to bed fairly early. So i'm pretty happy. That and another issue i was having was solved yesterday. So for the time being i feel pretty good. I feel like i could take on the death star all by myself.

While speaking to a dealer yesterday i asked if i could put him on hold to get some information. His reply? Something i hope no one ever says to me again--"that sounds delicious broseph!" Lame.

Favorite quote of the week at work. So when anyone calls in we need to either verify a 4 digit code on their account or the answer to a security question. One lasy tried to answer the security question what is your favorite color? She answered--green something. Thats cool because i think my favorite shade of green is the popular green something. Yeah it apparently doesnt take much to ammuse me these days.

Assorted stuff

I just got back from taking Diana to school. I realized i'm behind in my blogging. I really hope this week is going to be a good week. I feel a little better about the shift bid. Still not liking the job so much though. Thats big news isn't it?

The weekend was pretty cool. Rob took us to the Buffalo comic con. Had a pretty good time. I spent a whopping 12 dollars but that got me 12 comics and the screenplay for clerks 2. It was a really good turn out this year. Fingers crossed that next year at this time Kath will have her passport so she can go.


Its starting to get cold outside. Not a fan of that. Hoping to get a new jacket soon to stay warm. Wow i sound really boring today. Maybe theres a reason i havent blogged so much this month. Anyhow I'm gonna go watch a bit of tv and go take a nap. Yup i am really old. Have a great day.

New manager rules!

So it turns out i got a new manager,and she's really cool. She's a lot more organized than the last one. I told her about my issues with working on Sunday,told her about get your geek on. It turns out our friend Kristen had mentioned to her awhile back that i had a show. So she said she would try really hard to get me that day off and i will probably work saturdays now. I don't have an issue with that because i worked just about every saturday for the last 10 years. Needless to say i'm in a good mood about this news. I'll keep u all posted

Gygo 100

One cool thing did happen to us this week. We aired our 100th episode of get your geek on. John was kind enough to record with us. I figured it would be awesome to have my friend of almost 30 years to be on with us. It went pretty good. We had a lot of listeners and it was a great time. I can't believe we've been lucky enough to do the show for 2 years. I know that if i don't get my sundays off we'll figure something out. Not ready for the show to die off just yet. I feel i have a lot of shows in me and its a lot of fun.

Shift bid again

Wow i haven't blogged a lot this month so far. October is not going well. So i got some awesome news this week. My shift at work will no longer exist. No more midnight shift. Because i worked that shift i was guaranteed my weekends off. I don't really care about Saturday but i need Sunday off to do Get Your Geek On. The call centre will now only handle calls from 10 am to 10 pm. I can still take Diana to school which is awesome. We got our shift bid choices yesterday and there was 42 different shifts. I could work with 25 of the shifts. Hopefully things will go my way. Fingers crossed.

Let Me say thank you

Havent written a blog in awhile but popped out here to wish all my Canadian friends and family a very happy thanksgiving. We're going to my mom's house for dinner. Turkey rules.

Stupid 3 am shift

Hey good day and welcome to october. Fridays shift really sucked. There was a big midnight madness thing going on so everyone and his brother called in. I started late--6:30 and worked until 3 am. It was busy until about 1am. Call after call. It sucked ass. When 1 hit it slowed down and died off. For the last 2 hours i just talked movies and comics with the other 3 people that were working. We had some laughs. Man i don't wanna work that late again. It totally blew. Have i mentioned i hated the shift?

This week should be interesting. Maybe get my shift bid papers and maybe get a new manager. Man i hope this week doesnt suck.
