Get your geek on hits toronto wizard con part 1

Well i have to tell you about one of the greatest days i ever had. Saturday Kath and Rob and Nickle and i went down to the wizard world comic convention in Toronto. There's a lot to tell so i will probably split it into a few blogs.
We went and covered it for the show and it was amazing. Rob had been in contact with a man by the name Jerry. Jerry was massively cool and got us press passes to get into the con. Real badges! I wore mine proudly. What did this mean for us? Well for starters it got all of us in for free! THey were also cool about Diana getting in for free as well. Also we didn't have to wait in line either--because we were press we got to walk right in. We were also granted access to the press/celebrity green room. I have to tell ya i kinda felt like a celebrity. It was an awesome feeling.

We had put through a request for interviews beforehand that at the time of arrival hadnt been answered. Rob being the awesome producer he is lined up our first interview--Erin Gray from Buck Rogers and Silver Spoons fame. She was really nice and still beautiful. I couldnt believe she was 60. She certainly didnt look it.
Anyhow i had the task of talking to her. Lets be clear--i was extremely nervous. Here was a woman i had a crush on when i was a kid and besides a bad interview with some klingons,this was going to be first official interview ever. So we began the interview and it went well. I actually mentioned my crush and asked if she got to ride the big silver spoons train. I thought i was being clever but i guess she gets asked that all the time. Rob and Kath said i did a great job. Gil Gerrard who played Buck Rogers was sitting next to her but we didnt ask for an interview.

Next up we spoke with an actor by the name of David Peck Richmond. Now i hadnt prepared any questions for the guy it was kind of a last minute request. He's on the new V series which is a remake of the 80's classic.He'd also appeared on some stargate episodes. He seemed like a cool dude. Rob helped me out with some questions. It went pretty smooth. Then we decided to go speak with Jerry to see what we could do about other interviews. Thats when we first got to hang out in the press room. On the way there i say a really gorgeous woman in a wonder woman costume. I didn't realize it was Adrianne Curry the wife of Christopher Knight aka Peter Brady on The Brady Bunch. Speaking of which we noticed he was walking behind her. Now a bit of history--Kath had a huge crush on him growing up. As soon as she saw him she started to hyper ventilate and began to cry. It was kind of sweet actually. Even after seeing this i was expecting her to go interview him. How did she do? Stay tuned for part 2 same geek time same geek channel!

This has gotta be some kind of hot tub time machine

For any of you thinking of catching a film might i recommend Hot Tub Time Machine. Kath and Rob and Nickle and i went and checked it out yesterday and damn it was good. It had everything you need in a movie--time travel and the 80's! It was funny as hell. The music was awesome as well. It was the soundtrack of my youth. Everyone that knows me knows i'm kinda stuck in the 80's. So i was in my glory during this movie. I loved it. So everyone should go see it and support it cause dammit i wanna see a hot tub time machine 2!

preparing for the con

Its 2:30 on Friday. Having a pretty good day. Pretty excited actually. Tomorrow we head to Wizard toronto comic con. Rob was notified about the press passes and hopefully we will be able to interview some celebrities. We put in a request to interview gil gerrard and erin gray from Buck Rogers and jewel staite from stargate atlantis. We should know tomorrow morning if our requests were granted. I've been trying to come up with questions just in case we are allowed. I'm actually starting to get a head ache coming up with questions. I just have a fear of sounding really dumb once we get there.

Just got back from taking a walk with Diana. Needed some air for a bit. I'm also excited that i'm not at work for 4 days in a row. I have to admit that work wasnt to bad this week. In 3 days i really only had 4 or 5 bad calls. People were generally nice this week. It was super dead on Wednesday and got off of the phones an extra hour and a half. It was pretty awesome. I may have read 40 comics at work that day. Good times!

Anyhow i gotta get back to work. Gonna get to bed early tonight. Gonna be a fun but long day tomorrow. Have a great night all.

the name isJay not Guy M'f 'er

wow i made it through my entire shift before i got seriously pissed off. It was on my last call of the day. Bastard calls in and no matter what i say to him he interrupts me by calling me "guy." I let it go until literally about the 14th time. I say my name is Jay actually. Didn't say it in a sarcastic voice or anything. He takes it as me trying to be a smart ass and demands a supervisor. Then he asks me for my name. Oh so glad you're finally interested in my name prick. So i had to get a manager involved for correcting my name. Yay.

I know tomorrow is going to suck. I have my fingers crossed that i wont fail another quality. IT would take a miricle at this point. Man if i can get through the next 2 days than i get a 4 day weekend complete with comic book convention. Hopefully i will have the energy and patience to get through the next 48 hours. Anyhow gonna grab a snack and watch some tv. Talk to u all soon.

Lazy Sunday

Man what a nice day. Its Sunday so i got to sleep in. Thats a plus right there! Hung out with the fam all day just catching up on some tv and working on the show. I love boring ass days! If i can just get through the next 3 days i get a 4 day weekend. We're headed to the wizard convention in T.O. next Saturday. Hopefully the week leading up to it won't suck. I especially hope i get through Tuesday or as i like to call it "Jay's new tm fails him on another quality" day. Good times. You know whay i think i will hold off on the negative talk until tomorrow. Despite having a cold i am actually having a great day. Hopefully i can hold off on this feeling for the next 3 days. Ok I'm off to get ready for tonight's show. Have a good one

Rambling on a Friday morning

Just thought i would check in. I feel pretty sick. i have a cough i can't shake. However despite this i had a pretty awesome day off today. I got to hang out with Kath and Diana. Rob and Nickle came over and we watched the first 2 episodes of Firefly. It's pretty good so far.

Work has been just awful this week. It was cool not having to go there today.

Researching stuff for the show next Sunday. Just read about sandra Bulloch's husband cheating on her with some gross lady with face tattoos. Something must be wrong with that dude. Seriously.

Going to my mom's house tomorrow. It was her birthday. She finally got a computer. It's been really cool getting messages on facebook from her.

Well I'm about done rambling. Gonna go get some sleep now. Hope everyboday had a great night.

St Patricks day

Happy st Patricks day everybody! Sure wish i was at a bar with Scott drinking some green beer and watching the loud shertz or rick rose. Ah drinking in the late 80's/early 90's. Good times!
