A couple of cool con moments

Ok its been a week since i last blogged. I'll start September off with the few good things that happened at the con. It won't be a long blog that's for sure.

We spent a while in a section called Artist alley. Thats where all the comic book writers and artists hung out. Also a lot of vendors where creative people have made their own t shirts and paintings and buttons and so on. Kath and i made a lot of contacts for the show. We handed out our cards to them. There were a couple of people there that have made there own clerks type show about working in a comic book store. We purchased a dvd from them and met some of the actors from the show. They seemed really excited about being on the show. We havent had time to watch the dvd yet but will do so this week.

The highlight of fan expo? I went to the dc comics booth to meet a guy by the name of jt krul who is the current writer of Green Arrow. Green Arrow is a character i have been a fan of since i was a little kid. In recent years the character has been written by Judd Winnick and Kevin Smith himself. It was when Kevin Smith was writing the book that Kath got into the character. Nicole has also jumped on board the Green Arrow bandwagon. Anyhow the book has sucked large for the last year or so and i considered dropping it all together. Jt Krul took over earlier this year and really breathed new life into the character. We've reviewed a lot of his stuff on the show and Kath and i have both liked it a lot.
Anyhow i took a book for mr krul to sign and mentioned Kath and i were big fans. I gave him a card and asked if he'd be interested in doing an interview. He was so cool and said:
"I'll do you one better." with that he gave us his email address to set up an interview. Very cool. So something cool at least came out of that hellish day. It wasnt all that bad i guess. We did enjoy seeing everyones costume and i did find a couple of cool books. I think we will be throwing all our energy into next years wizard world con instead.
