Sunday evening was cool

Just got home from recording at Rob's house. It really felt like one of our best shows. Our friend Amy co hosted and she was awesome. Well i guess i have to go back to my shitty job for the next 3 days. Hooray for me! Well I'm off to put Diana to bed. Have a great night everyone!

February please go by super fast!

Well here it is the last day of January. I gotta admit it didnt suck as bad as i thought it would. Despite being sick for the last week of January it really wasnt a bad month. I have a bad feeling about February. Its gonna be a tight month money wise. At least the first 2 weeks anyhow. Its really March I'm looking forward to. We should have income tax by then and theres a comic book convention in March as well. I can't believe i already got my t4 slip for taxes and Kath hasnt. Every other year its been the other way around. Actually one thing I am looking forward to at the end of February is the release of the new Kevin Smith movie Cop Out. It stars the coolest dude in the world Bruce Willis and the hillarious Tracy Morgan. It'll be our first live movie review for Get Your Geek on. Oh and the best part? I have enough points on my card to get in for free! Unfortunately won't get to see it until Feb 28th so i have to get through a whole shitty month before that. At least February is the short month. Ugh! Can we just skip to March now?

Being sick: The pros and cons

Well i guess there are pros and cons to being sick. On the con side i havent been able to taste anything for 2 days. Here's what really sucks about that. In December my team at work had won a contest. We won 3 ice cream cakes. Guess when they decided to give us our prize? Yup yesterday the first day of not being able to taste anything. Man that sucked. Which brings us to the pro list. Because i havent wanted to eat,i have lost all the weight i put on since November. I feel like shit but I'm looking good! Oh well such is life i guess. I just really miss tasting food. Fingers crossed my taste buds will be back tomorrow.

Someday my name will be on a bus.

Man i had a cool fantasy pop into my head the other day. No not a dirty fantasy. Not that day anyhow. So I've been noticing different billboards and banners on busses for different radio pesonalities and radio stations. It got me to thinking or fantasizing if you will. What if kath and i ever got paid for Get your Geek on and we became popular radio personalities. Out pictures might end up on buses. My ex friend who threw away 25 years of friendship drives a bus. How cool would it be to have my picture on his bus to rub it in. I think that would make me smile. I'm allowed to dream right? Maybe thats petty i don't know but i am still a bit hurt over what happenned last year between Colin and I. Oh well. Whatever. Yeah i think I'm a bit bitter==and thats ok.

Douche of the day

The second half of my shift was awesome and by awesome i mean shitty. I got to talk to an insane old guy. He spent the first 10 minutes of the call bitching about our main menu. He was seriously pissed off. So much in fact that when i asked for his name he said it was angry andy. He wasnt joking. I then asked him for the name of the account holder.
"angry pam." he replied

" and her real name?" i stupidly asked? He told me and followed it up with
"can't you put 2 and 2 together and connect the dots?" i proceeded to continue to verrify his information
"ok can i have your pin # or the last 4 numbers of your social?"
" I don't go to socials."
"uh the last 4 numbers of the social security number?"
"thats not what you asked. Don't you know what a social is?" Meanwhile I've been asking like that for 8 years and never had an issue with someone confusing the info.
So i finally get into the account and he starts yelling and saying that every representative in the company is a liar. He wants to know the name of the person he talked to before me.
"we don't put our names on the account but we do note the account whenever you call in."
"what does note the account mean?"
"really?"
"yeah I'm stupid."
"uh no one is calling you stupid sir." Meanwhile in my head I'm agreeing with the asshole.
"I am stupid i never went past grade one." Hmmm this explained a lot
"it means we put a note on your account anytime you call in."
So he starts going off because he has phone service and the account is in his wifes name and can't understand why the caller id also displays his wife's name.

"sir the account holders name is the name on the caller id."
"nobody told me that." Hmm how do i tell the guy its common sense? So he eventually hangs up and calls back and pretends he's his wife. Yes i followed his account for the rest of the day. What a maroon. Just another day at the office!

Jay is a whiny bitch when he's sick

I'n home at lunch and i feel like death. I finally caught the cold that everybody has. Diana has been sick for a week and now Kath and i both feel rough. Work is a stuggle today. I can barely concentrate. My head feels totally foggy. I may come home early today. Havent decided yet. What a day. I will probably take a whole box of kleenex back with me. I may end up using the whole thing today to.

Last night we did our weekly show and our friend Amy did a guest appearance. Went over pretty well. Amy also cut my hair and Diana's hair as well. Yeah the hair is still long. I know I'm 40 and should start thinking about looking my age but i just don't think I'm ready yet. I don't feel like growing up just yet.

Well thats it i have to go back for my last 4 and a half hours. Sure hope i survive.

No bastard customers for jay today!

Wow i really have neglected the blog this month. I'm having a really good day off. I feel like I'm geting a cold though. I've been lucky. Usually in the winter time i would have been sick already. I always seem to get sick aroung Christmas time. Diana is fighting a cold to.

Had a great day off yesterday as well. For some reason i kept running into people i used to work with at the donut diner. It was weird. Then i heard that lovely Air Supply song I'm all out of love when we were at the grocery store. That was the song that the bastard customers used to play over and over again at the diner. Man i hate that frigging song. Frigging Air Supply.

Just sitting here trying to come up with some stuff to talk about on the show this week. Think I'm going to break for lunch and watch some cartoons with Diana. We need to get some shows off of our dvr. It was up to 100 percent full this morning and i need room to tape some shows for Kath tonight. The Battlestar Galactica prequel Caprica is on tonight.Man i hope it doesnt suck. I loved the new version of Battlestar Galactica. Anyhow hope everyone is doing awesome. I will talk to you soon
