Jay and Scott film makers extraordinaire

Howdy folks. I emailed my friend Scott today. Its getting closer to his visit to Canada. I can't wait. Ten years is a long time to see one of your best friend. SO i was thinking of some sort of Scott tale i could tell today. I already talked about our air guitar experiences and the novel we wrote. I guess i could tell you that we;re also film makers that would give George Lucas a run for their money. Nah not really but in the winter of 1986 we did film a documentary of sorts.

We were in theatre arts tgether and had to do some sort of presentation. I don't remember what the assignment was or why we chose the subject we did. We filmed a biography on the group Wham. You know the "wake me up before you go go" guys. I played a convincing George Michael and Scott was Andrew Ridgely. You might also know him as "the other guy from wham." So looking back on it now its pretty much one long 45 minute gay joke. At the time no one knew for sure what their sexual orientation was. We kind of implied they were really into each other. Keep in mind this was years before George Michael came out of the closet. We just knew.

Somehow we got an A on the video. We did nothing but mock the band and make it seem like it was the end of the world when they broke up. We embelleshed quite a bit. In real life Andrew Ridgelys girlfriend had dumped him for actor Don Johnson. In our video i played Don Johnson. I walked in slow motion down a hallway with a toy gun, miami vice style. I kicked in a door, grabbed a girl playing his girlfriend and walked back out the door. Scott improvised the line "i guess its back to men again."

Man we even filmed Wham's farewell concert complete with 1 person sitting in the audience. The lone audience member- a guy by the way rushes the stage yelling "i love you guys!" reaches into his shirt and throws a bra on stage. Yeah i cant understand how we got an A either.

There were other videos we filmed during high school and i still have them all. That was the first one though. It was fun. I can't believe our teacher liked it that much. Anyhow thats it for now. Talk to you soon.

Jay
